Fujitsu, the leading information and communication technology (ICT) company, today announced it will expand its Private Hosted Cloud capacity by 300 percent in North America to address the increasing demand for highly available cloud services, with particular focus on the healthcare, financial, utilities, retail, public safety and food manufacturing industries.

Available January 2015, the expanded cloud service will provide servers, storage and network capacity as-a-service, as well as a complete range of cloud consulting and assessment services. The new Private Hosted Cloud capacity will be delivered from Fujitsu datacenters in Sunnyvale, California, and Dallas, Texas.

"Organizations today are experiencing unprecedented and exponential data growth, driving a critical need for highly secure, available and scalable cloud infrastructure delivery models," said David Berry, executive vice president of Infrastructure Services at Fujitsu America, Inc. "Fujitsu Trusted Public S5 and Private Hosted Cloud solutions, coupled with the largest global footprint of datacenters in the world, deliver an unparalleled storage solution to address a significant pain point for our customers, freeing them to focus on their core business goals, knowing their data is safe."

Fujitsu Private Hosted Cloud provides both virtual and physical infrastructures, which can be customized to meet specific security requirements, such as data residency, as well as specific server performance or software needs requiring a verified infrastructure. Built for the most rigorous customers and regulatory compliance requirements, Fujitsu provides cloud services to more than 5,000 customers around the world.

The Fujitsu Private Hosted Cloud expansion project is part of the company's global $2 billion, two-year global investment plan, which was announced in July of 2014. In addition to the increased capacity of its Private Hosted Cloud, Fujitsu also will increase the number of its cloud-enabled datacenters to 27 and increase the number of hosting platforms by an industry-leading 44 by the end of 2014.
