This month has already been one of big happenings for the healthcare information technology world. ONC has appointed its first chief health information officer; patients remain unsatisfied with their docs’ low adoption of health IT tools; states are ramping up their data security laws, and docs have words for the ONC over meaningful use. Health system heavyweight Mayo Clinic also announced it was ditching its GE and Cerner EHR and trading it in for a single Epic platform.
