Kony Solutions announced that Independence Blue Cross (IBC), southeastern Pennsylvania’s largest health insurer, has selected Kony Solutions as its mobile application platform. Kony’s Platform Write Once, Run Everywhere technology enables mobile deployment across more than 9,000 mobile smartphones/tablets/kiosks and operating systems.
Stereotaxis announced that it has started initial shipments of the Epoch platform, its comprehensive solution for the electrophysiology (EP) lab, designed to increase efficiency in procedures with a fully-remote, networked robotic and magnetic navigation system. athenahealth announced that it proactively sought and subsequently received a favorable advisory opinion from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General (OIG) relating to its athenaCoordinator service offering, in which it would provide an order transmission and coordination service to health care professionals using a transaction-based pricing model. Officials say the opinion paves the way for the creation of a sustainable market for the exchange of healthcare information where the appropriate value for health care transactions will be paid by those parties who realize value from the successful exchange of data, taking costs out of the system and improving patient satisfaction and care.
