Lisa Suennen, venture capital investor focused on digital health, has been snapped up by GE Ventures. Her title is managing director, focused on healthcare.
She announced her new GE gig to her friends and followers via her blog and LinkedIN, Suennen said in a blog post she would continue her Venture Valkyrie blog and Tech Tonics podcast.
Her work at GE Ventures started on December 1.
“I am very excited to be back on the front lines of venture capital investing in the areas I love: health IT, health services, medical devices (non-invasive in this case) and where they all connect in digital health.,” Suemen wrote in her blog.
“With corporate venture capital playing such a significant role in today’s healthcare innovation world and the wealth of assets to be brought to bear, I am particularly looking forward to the good things that can be done through GE Ventures,” she added.
From 1998 to 2014, Suennen was a managing member of Psilos Group, a venture capital and growth equity firm focused on healthcare.
Her new position at GE Ventures comes just as the National Venture Capital Association and Deloitte survey reveal that women are consistently overrepresented in administrative functions and underrepresented in investment functions at venture capital firms.
