IMS MAXIMS has unveiled a new version of its emergency department information system at the HC2012 conference in London.

The ED module includes graphic screens for real-time tracking of all patients in an ED – locally, regionally or nationally. Status, needs and location of patients can be continually monitored, and staff workloads are efficiently managed. Once treatment is completed, a discharge summary is automatically generated and sent to the patient’s GP.

IMS MAXIMS newest project, da Vinci, will store electronic health records remotely, put health data into the hands of patients. The data will be accessed using mobile devices.

“Our aim is to remove the complexity and expense of electronic record systems by enabling up-to-date clinical and administrative data to be accessed remotely through mobile devices installed with our apps," said Shane Tickell, CEO of IMS MAXIMS. "This supports the trend towards patients having control of their own data and frees the NHS from the responsibility of data storage and upkeep."
