HIMSS Analytics uncovers top issues in deploying cloud platforms
Healthcare providers considering a transition from an enterprise datacenter to a cloud computing platform have said their greatest concern was the exposure they might face over security and regulatory issues. In practice, those concerns appear to be misplaced.
A new study from HIMSS Analytics determined that healthcare providers who made the switch to cloud computing had few challenges related to establishing security. More than 85 percent of respondents said they are using cloud services in their organization.
Top applications for cloud platforms are IT services like disaster recovery, server virtualization and back office applications. HIMSS Analytics looked at trends in the movement of a wide range of basic IT applications such as analytics applications, clinical applications and operational data.
Bryan Fiekers, Senior Director of Research Services at HIMSS Analytics will present the findings in a webinar scheduled for December 6, 2016 at 2 pm EDT.
Understanding Cloud Computing Trends in Healthcare IT, will also be available for on-demand viewing after the live presentation.
