HIMSS Analytics launches LOGIC Google Chrome extension
HIMSS Analytics announced the LOGIC Chrome extension here on Monday. The software gives a free glimpse under the hood of HIMSS Analytics LOGIC by enabling users to visit a hospital website and view information in the LOGIC database.
“In healthcare we know that a critical part of safe, effective care is adherence to the 5 rights of medication administration: right patient, right drug, right dose, right route, at the right time,” said HIMSS Analytics executive vice president Blain Newton. “While certainly not as critical as the health and safety of a patient, we also know that health IT is more effective and efficient when the right solution is implemented by the right organization at the right time.”
Using the LOGIC Chrome extension, users can view information such as the hospital’s health IT footprint, financials, bed size, key decision makers — the idea being to provide insights about which health information technologies a particular hospital is well positioned to implement.
“We are reducing the friction of the health IT procurement process with the goal of making healthcare IT more efficient and effective,” Newton said.
While it is making the LOGIC Chrome extension available here at HIMSS17, HIMSS Analytics said that it plans to add new features over time.
“We will be looking to continuously update the features of this tool to include, among other things, news and current events on each organization,” Newton said. “The overall intent is to give health IT solutions providers the top 5 things they need to understand about an organization at a glance.”
HIMSS Analytics is in Booth 2133.
HIMSS17 runs from Feb. 19-23, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center.
