Beacon CIO Mark Warlick said the hospital intends to align tasks such as billing, registration and scheduling on a single platform.

Beacon Health System announced that it will deploy Cerner’s Millennium Revenue Cycle management suite.

South Bend, Indiana-based Beacon will integrate the RCM suite with its existing system-wide Cerner electronic health record system to boost the clinical and financial workflow of patient care services by incorporating that data throughout each area of the health system.

The goal is to align tasks like scheduling, registration and billing on the same platform, according to Beacon CIO Mark Warlick.

“In the end, we aim to offer our providers access to the right information at the right time, which we believe will enable them to provide better patient care,” Warlick said.

Cerner bills its Clinically Driven Revenue Cycle offering as technology that enables clinicians and staff to update the billing process throughout the patient’s visit, enhance clinical documentation designed to help improve reimbursement and limit claims errors.

Beacon is the nonprofit parent organization of Elkhart General Hospital and Memorial Hospital, which delivers care to communities of northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan.
