Hiring strong, but nursing facilities show slowest growth

New numbers from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics this month show the healthcare industry growing by some 47,000 new jobs in May -- with ambulatory sites leading the charge.

The month outpaced April, and points to healthcare sector getting stronger with each month. No healthcare subsector lost jobs for May, according to Healthcare Finance.

Ambulatory health centers were at the front of the pack with a robust 28,000 new jobs in May. Hospitals hired to the tune of about 16,000 new positions. Nursing facilities showed much more anemic growth, with just 300 new jobs for the month.
