A report issued this week by the Government Accountability Office reports that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services overpaid the Medicare Advantage program run by private health insurers by between $3.2 billion and $5.1 billion for the years 2010-2012.

In a stunning blow to opponents of the Affordable Care Act, the Supreme Court today ruled in a 5-4 vote that the most reviled portion of the health reform law -- the so-called individual mandate requiring all Americans to buy health insurance or face a fine -- is constitutional, since it falls within the power of Congress to impose a tax.
