Seventeen Banner Health facilities have achieved Stage 7, the final stage in the adoption of electronic medical record (EMR) as acknowledged by HIMSS Analytics, a wholly owned nonprofit subsidiary of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. HealthSouth Corporation (NYSE: HLS) today announced it has acquired land and plans to construct a new 48,000-square foot inpatient rehabilitation hospital in southwest Phoenix, Ariz. Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2012, and the hospital should be operational by the third quarter 2013. In connection with these plans, HealthSouth purchased 6.87 acres of land located at the northwest corner of North 91st Avenue and Pinchot Avenue.
