May 9, 2012 | Jamie Thompson - Web Producer
Healthcare IT News recently asked readers if IT was a key part of patient engagement at their organizations. Here are the results.
The majority of respondents said that IT is a key part of patient engagement. Mobile devices, such as iPads, can make it easier for providers to engage patients in their own care. The new Stage 2 meaningful use proposed rule also includes clearer guidelines on patient engagement through the use of IT.
Only 29 percent of respondents said IT is not a key part of patient engagement at their organizations.
The date range of the survey was April 25, 2012 to May 9, 2012.
