ePrescribing

Electronic prescribing allows physicians to digitally prescribe drugs, while increasing the efficiency of communication with the pharmacy and greatly reducing the risk of error associated with handwritten paper scripts. Because of its ability to automatically create an accurate record of a patient's prescription history, ePrescribing is usually considered a fundamental aspect of a fully integrated electronic health records system.
