POR launches PharmaCONNECT desktop drug reference database

January 31, 2012 | Industry News Release
Source: Physicians Office Resource

BEDFORD, NH – Physicians Office Resource (POR), a trusted online and print resource for over 360,000 U.S. physicians, today announced the first edition of its Desktop Drug Reference Database as a free resource for physicians, residents, medical students and allied healthcare professionals. Now available as part of its online PharmaCONNECT offering, the Desktop Drug Reference Database offers the most current and complete FDA-regulated information necessary when prescribing drugs -- right at your fingertips.

The PharmaCONNECT Desktop Drug Reference Database expands upon POR's established value to busy physicians, offering an essential, go-to resource for anyone in the field of medicine. Tapping into the desktop drug reference database provides healthcare providers with access to the most authoritative and current information on all FDA-regulated drugs.

The PharmaCONNECT Desktop Drug Reference Database was developed as a resource for busy physicians and other prescribers to have easy online access to a complete drug database. What sets PharmaCONNECT apart from other available options is it is completely free for the physician and other prescribers. PharmaCONNECT was built with physicians in mind and offers the only side-by-side comparisons of all drug therapies, complete dosing information, and most importantly the ability for the doctors to connect with pharma in real-time. More and more pharma reps recognize that in person meetings with docs are no longer the standard procedure. And with the recent Sunshine Act, access to physicians' offices will be even more limited for pharma reps. PharmaCONNECT gives doctors access to pharma brands on their own terms at a time when it's convenient for them and the pharma community benefits from a meaningful measurable engagement with physicians.

"Today's medical practitioners are busier than ever and we are committed to offering physicians and all healthcare professionals the most trusted, accurate, up-to-date, information right at their fingertips," said Andrew Nimmo, President of POR. "The PharmaCONNECT desktop drug reference does just that -- providing a free resource where physician's can access the most authoritative source of FDA-regulated drug information so they can make smart prescribing decisions."

Launched in August 2011, PharmaCONNECT is a single source for information to help doctors improve their practice -- everything from researching and purchasing diagnostic and laboratory equipment; obtaining up to the minute medical code lookup; and evaluating their full range of prescription treatment options. PharmaCONNECT creates a real time, on-demand relationship between physicians and pharma, making it easy for doctors to interact with pharmaceutical manufacturers whenever and however they choose. PharmaCONNECT reaches more than 360,000 verified, practicing physicians and leverages those connections to help pharma brands actively engage a targeted, high-prescribing field of practicing PCPs and specialists, in the right time and context, to impact their prescribing behavior.

To obtain FREE and complete access to the PharmaCONNECT Desktop Drug Reference Database, prescribers must register at the Physicians Office Resource website. A direct link to the registration is available at: https://www.physiciansofficeresource.com/secured-forms/Edit-User-Profile...
