NEC demonstrates cost-reducing healthcare solutions for improved workflow and patient care

Irving, Texas – NEC Corporation of America (NEC) today announced it will showcase five healthcare-focused, integrated IT and communications solutions that can help improve workflow efficiencies, reduce energy consumption and streamline communication during this year's Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2011 in Orlando, Fla. NEC is serving as a Marketplace Sponsor and will be co-presenting with Virtua Health on its state-of-the-art Access Center, which features NEC solutions.
 
The Gartner Symposium/ITxpo is the industry’s largest and most important annual gathering of CIOs and senior IT leaders, and delivers insights, tools and relationships necessary to create, validate and execute transformative business technology strategies. NEC, a leading healthcare solutions integrator, will be exhibiting at booth MP9 in Atlantic Hall at the Walt Disney Dolphin. The company will be showcasing the following healthcare solutions:
 
Unified Clinical Collaboration (UCC) Suite – an integrated collaboration solution that enables secure exchanges of time-sensitive patient information, real-time voice pathways among care teams (including off-sight physicians) and patients, and the ability to track and locate medical devices and other assets - all from single, easy-to-use, voice over wireless LAN (VoWLAN) and Smartphone devices.

Door-to-Doctor Suite – a patient tracking system that provides clinical staff with real-time updates on emergency department (ED) wait times, patient status and assigned staff for emergency room care. The integrated solution leverages radio frequency ID (RFID) asset tracking, digital signage and also provides staff with real-time access to Clinical Information System (CIS) integrated data via specially tailored VoWLAN handset devices.
 
Healthcare Network Managed Services – secure, efficient network management a cloud-based services offering tailored to meet rigorous healthcare data security standards. With managed services from NEC, IT departments can maximize network uptime, availability, performance and security with 24x7 monitoring and remote management.
 
Healthcare Business Intelligence Dashboard – an integrated, customized business intelligence / business analytics solution that can help healthcare organizations improve efficiency through the analysis of service line operational data.  It also assists providers with overall contract management performance through the analysis of clinical and claims-related data. 
 
Sustainable Building Solutions – an enterprise energy management solution and strategy offering that can help reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions, energy costs and energy/carbon reduction on one dashboard while automating hospital power grids.
 
The NEC Solution Provider Session featuring Virtua Health will be Tuesday, Oct.18, 12:30-1:30pm, Oceanic 7, Dolphin Hotel. The session titled, “Patient Navigation – Using Advanced Contact Center Technologies at Virtua Health,” will showcase how patients using Virtua’s Access Center, with its expert patient navigators, are evidencing a 50-percent higher contribution margin.
