my1HIE(sm) Implements WellCentive Registry

January 27, 2009 | Industry News Release
Source: Healthcare IT News

ATLANTA and BINGHAM FARMS, Mich. – WellCentive, LLC today announced that WellCentive Registry has been selected by my1HIE (My One Health Information Exchange) as its patient registry and disease management system.

Through the use of WellCentive Registry, more than 1,000 my1HIE physicians and other health care providers in Southeast Michigan will be better able to provide preventive care services and track and manage patients with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, asthma or heart disease. WellCentive Registry combines the capabilities of a Web-based, community-wide, point-of-care all-patient registry system with custom interfacing, customizable alerts, targeted patient outreach, comprehensive reporting tools, secure messaging features and direct reporting of outcomes to a variety of payors. WellCentive Registry includes highly effective patient outreach tools, including an integrated automated telephone appointment and care reminder system called WellCentive Outreach.

"Michigan led the industrial age with manufacturing, and we are now a driving force in the health care industry's adoption of new technologies by means of connecting physicians, labs, health plans, hospitals, electronic prescribing and other clinical applications -- with physicians leading the way," said

Steven D. Grant , MD President and CEO of United Physicians, PC. "This new partnership with WellCentive gives us an opportunity to expand the platform we initially created with my1HIE and continue to advance the physician adoption of innovative technology."

my1HIE is a unique, physician-driven health information exchange launched in November 2008. With the physician and their respective physician organization at the forefront of the complete health information exchange, four physician organizations representing more than 3,000 physicians are already committed to my1HIE, and there are discussions in the works with at least four additional physician organizations representing an additional 2,000 physicians.

"The idea of physicians working together through their physician organizations is a concept that has come to the forefront. Before my1HIE we were all individually trying to determine how to add this technology to improve patient care," said

Randall Bickle , DO, JD, CPE President and Medical Director of Olympia Medical Service (OMS). "Now, through the my1HIE physician organization model, more physicians can realize and adopt the many benefits of such applications as WellCentive with a high success rate."

"We are very pleased to partner with my1HIE," said

Paul Taylor , M.D., WellCentive co-founder, CEO and medical director. "WellCentive Registry has become the dominant patient registry system in Michigan, because thousands of Michigan physicians have determined that no other health information system can deliver the features and return on investment that are available through the use of WellCentive Registry. We are confident that the my1HIE physicians will find WellCentive Registry to be easy-to-implement, cost-effective and

extremely helpful for improving the quality of care they provide their patients."
