PITTSBURGH – Mobile Aspects has announced the release of its new clinical supply automation system “iRIS Touch”. iRIS Touch adds a user friendly & cost effective barcode based option to Mobile Aspects existing “iRIS” (Intelligent Radio-frequency Information System) product line. The system is ideally designed to manage lower cost supplies found in the clinical areas of the hospital & as a compliment to Mobile Aspects existing passive RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) supply, tissue & endoscope tracking solutions.

The decision to release a barcode enabled solution falls in line with Mobile Aspects belief that each supply automation or UDI (Unique Device Identification) is ideally suited to manage a group of workflows within the clinical area.

In other words, the critical factor is being able to correctly identify & provide hospital administrators with the “Right Tool, for the Right Job

“There is no one size fits all solution for supply tracking technology in healthcare, it should be the specific need or desired process improvement which drives technology selection. Our focus has always been on enabling healthcare providers to deliver safer, more efficient care through automation & data driven decision making.” – Suneil Mandava

A key feature of iRIS Touch is its ability to send and receive information from Mobile Aspects web based reporting system iRISynergy, this enables the management of low cost supplies via barcode scanning within the same application users would access to manage high value implants, tissues & devices currently being tracked with passive RFID tags.

Introducing iRIS Touch:

Key Benefits:

Improves charge capture & tracking accuracy
Eliminates manual documentation & counting
Prevent product loss & expiration
Key Features:

Secure storage unit with color touch screen monitor
Track via Manufacturer’s Native Barcodes or generate Unique ID
Available interfaces: ADT/ Schedule, Materials Management & Patient Billing
Ultimately, the systems release will provide hospital administrators with the ability to configure a comprehensive and cost effective solution designed to meet the unique challenges of their organization.
