Connecture's President to Speak at Minnesota Healthcare RoundtableOctober 31, 2012 | Industry News Release
Connecture, Inc., a provider of Web-based information systems used to create health insurance marketplaces and exchanges, today announced that Dan Maynard, the company's president, will participate in the 38th session of the Minnesota Healthcare Roundtable. The roundtable "Health Insurance Exchanges: Assuring They are Meaningful" will explore the complexities health insurance exchanges must address, and what must be done to ensure they are effective.
Connecture is a pioneer in the creation of public and private exchanges. More than half of the nation's 20 largest health insurance carriers, and more than half of all Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans, use information systems built by Connecture to sell and maintain their products while making the enrollment process easy for users. More than 25 million Americans have shopped for health insurance on Web-based systems built by the company and relied on by more than 1 million businesses and 50,000 brokers. Connecture is also supplying the shopping and enrollment functions at the core of the state exchanges being created in Maryland and Minnesota.
"While it's understandable that the national dialogue on health insurance exchanges has, to this point, focused largely on who will create and manage them, what ultimately matters most is that they enable people to effectively shop for and enroll in plans that meet their needs," said Maynard. "Buying health insurance can be complex. A good exchange, public or private, simplifies that process and removes the cost and friction that have for far too long made buying health insurance tougher and more expensive than it needs to be. This roundtable offers an excellent opportunity to explore this issue and others of importance to healthcare in Minnesota today."
Interested professionals and the public are invited to attend the roundtable, which is organized by Minnesota Physician Publishing. Details include:
