AlgoSec FireFlow Firewall Change Management System

March 26, 2010 | Industry News Release
Source: Healthcare IT News

RESTON, VA – AlgoSec, the leading provider of firewall operations and security risk management solutions, today announced AlgoSec FireFlow has successfully completed FortiVerified testing to ensure interoperability with Fortinet FortiGate security devices in all key areas of the firewall change management workflow, including change planning, assessing risks associated with rule changes, and verification that implemented rule changes match the initial request.

AlgoSec FireFlow is the first solution to intelligently automate the entire network security policy change lifecycle from submission through audit. In addition to streamlining traditional change processes through an automated workflow, AlgoSec FireFlow eliminates many of their inherent inefficiencies such as unneeded rule changes which account for 20-30 percent of all changes performed by enterprises.

"We are pleased to have verified interoperability between Fortinet's FortiGate multi-threat security appliances and AlgoSec FireFlow," said Jens Andreassen, Vice President, Strategy and New Technology at Fortinet. "AlgoSec FireFlow interoperability with FortiGate gives customers another intelligent option for automating the change management process."

Addressing the disjointed and manual processes for ensuring firewall policy changes are approved, necessary and implemented as intended, AlgoSec FireFlow provides an automated policy change management solution that enhances the Fortinet FortiGate-protected network by empowering security operations teams to further reduce risk, enforce security policies, improve IT governance, and increase operational efficiency.

"AlgoSec is pleased to have FireFlow tested and certified in Fortinet's product development labs for interoperability with FortiGate security appliances," said Avishai Wool, CTO and Co-founder of AlgoSec. "With AlgoSec FireFlow administrators of Fortinet security appliances can now gain the benefit of automating the change management process, efficiently translating business requests into actionable policy changes."

In addition to certified interoperability with Fortinet FortiGate appliances, FireFlow is a scalable solution that automates the change management workflow for firewalls, routers, VPNs and other devices in multi-vendor environments. More information on AlgoSec's firewall operations and security risk management solutions, as well as its technology partners can be found online at www.algosec.com.
