Charles E. Christian, CIO of Good Samaritan Hospital in Indiana. has been named CIO of the Year by CHIME and HIMSS. He will receive the 2010 John E. Gall Jr. Award at a ceremony on Feb. 22 at HIMSS11 in Orlando, Fla. The award recognizes healthcare IT executives who have made significant contributions to their organization and demonstrated innovative leadership through effective use of technology. In this podcast Healthcare IT News Editor Bernie Monegain talks with Christian about his successes and challenges as a CIO, about what a hospital like Good Samaritan, a 232-bed facility in rural Indiana, has to contribute and about the future of health IT.
