Sister Anne Brooks, MD, is a physician at the Tutwiler Clinic, a rural Catholic healthcare clinic in Tutwiler, Miss. About 70% of the patients served by the clinic are unable to pay for their care.

Like many rural community health organizations, the Tutwiler Clinic had regular paper charts and its staff often found themselves copying many pages of data by hand. A grant from the Kellogg Foundation in 2002 allowed Tutwiler to transition to electronic records under the leadership of Sister Brooks.  Sister Brooks describes the changes that have come about since the transition in this exclusive interview with Managing Editor Mike Miliard.
