2ndWave Software makes Amcom its first acquisition
2ndWave Software of Minneapolis has acquired Amcom Software, a provider of enterprise software systems for mission-critical communications. This is the first acquisition for the company, founded earlier this year by former HighJump Software executives Chris Heim and Dan Mayleben, which is designed to assist management teams in growing the business while evaluating opportunities to acquire complimentary software businesses. The 25-year-old Amcom’s customers include Banner Health System, Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Vanderbilt University Medical Center, among others.
VHA awards SciMage its teleradiology contract
ScImage, a Los Altos, Calif.-based enterprise imaging and information management company, has been awarded a contract by the Veterans Health Administration to manage the VHA’s teleradiology program, serving more than 150 VHA medical centers. The ScImage solution will be deployed as a Web layer on top of disparate PACS to route exams, prior images and reports based on dynamic business rules. It will also be used in the VHA’s Teleradiology Center to provide a virtual reading environment for radiologists and radiology groups.
Greenway, Mid Rogue plan partnership on EHR access
Greenway Medical Technologies Inc. has partnered with the Mid Rogue Independent Physician Association to bring integrated electronic health record and interoperability technology to more than 80 physicians in Josephine and Jackson counties in Oregon. Mid Rogue has acquired access to Greenway’s PrimeSuite EHR solution and will lease that solution to its members in southern Oregon, many of whom would not otherwise have the necessary funds to invest fully in a solution.
Precision Dynamics, IntelliDot announce deal
Precision Dynamics, a San Fernando, Calif.-based provider of bar code and radio frequency identification wristbands for hospital use, has partnered with the San Diego-based IntelliDOT Corp., which develops and installs point-of-care bar code patient safety and documentation systems in hospitals. The joint marketing agreement will deliver “a proven patient safety solution at the point of care, along with the convenience of patient wristbands embedded with either bar code or radio frequency identification (RFID).”
