Vendor Notebook: Zynx kicks off pilot program
Zynx Health, maker of evidence-based and experience-based clinical decision support solutions, announced the kick-off of a pilot program addressing a new focus on healthcare reform and preparing for accountable care organizations (ACOs). Five healthcare organizations will partner with Zynx Health to pilot a new service and software solution that analyzes their clinical decision support and provides recommended tactics for them to implement as they strive to become accountable for cost and quality outcomes as outlined in the recent Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The five pilot sites are: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Texas, Northwest Hospital & Medical Center in Washington, St. Joseph Health System in California and Texas, and WellStar Health System in Atlanta.
PatientKeeper, provider of physician information technology, announced that it has further expanded both the range of PatientKeeper applications and handheld devices that run its popular software used by nearly 24,000 physicians at more than 400 hospitals to streamline and improve their daily workflow. PatientKeeper Mobile Clinical Results, which provides physicians with “anytime, anywhere” access to their patients’ medical records, now supports the Google Android operating system, which runs on devices including Droid and Incredible. PatientKeeper Mobile Clinical Results already runs on BlackBerry, Apple iPhone and iPad. In addition, PatientKeeper Charge Capture, an application that enables physicians to accurately record their patient charges, now supports BlackBerry, Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
Anvita Health has released the latest version of its Anvita Insight clinical analytics engine. Building upon the analytics framework embraced by payers, providers and electronic medical records, the new version 4.0 release includes key features that include the ability to conduct both real-time and batch analyses with one engine, as well as web-based end-user tools that enable full customization of analyses and reporting. These new features add to the list of Anvita Insight’s engine’s capabilities that accomplish myriad sophisticated analytics challenges that frequently take multiple analytics engines to achieve.
Omnicell, provider of system solutions to acute healthcare facilities, announced that Orange Regional Medical Center has chosen the firm as its exclusive vendor for automated medication solutions. After evaluating competitive product lines, Orange Regional chose Omnicell’s automated medication system to maximize inventory, enhance safety and increase medication security. Orange Regional will be opening a new 383 bed facility located in New York‘s Hudson Valley in 2011, equipped with Omnicell solutions, including its proprietary Anywhere RN product, which allows nurses to review and select medication orders from virtually any hospital workstation.
Landacorp has announced it has been selected by Health Net Federal Services to enhance its population health and care management services through implementation of the CareRadius suite. Health Net Federal Services is a part of the Government Contracts segment of Health Net, Inc. and provides quality managed health care programs for government agencies, including the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Landacorp’s CareRadius software suite will help to improve health status and organizational efficiencies by enabling health and care collaboration between Health Net, beneficiaries and providers.
SRS, provider of productivity-enhancing technology and services for high-performance physician specialty practices, announced that Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) has selected the SRS Hybrid EMR for its 242 providers. IBJI has 22 office locations providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care in the metropolitan Chicago area.
Viztek, the digital imaging solution provider, has installed its Opal-ORTHO PACS and U-Arm DR at Boyette Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in Greenville, NC. Boyette made the U-Arm decision based on the high image quality, ultra-fast access to images and the reputation of Viztek’s internal support team. The facility’s purchase included a weight-bearing stand for specialized orthopedic X-ray images and advanced PACS templating software for superior pre-operative planning.

Sy.Med, a provider of credentialing software in the healthcare industry, has added Alliance HealthCare Services and Texas Health Resources to their client list in September. The addition of Alliance and Texas Health makes September 2010 Brentwood, Tenn.-based Sy.Med’s largest revenue month of the year, and the second largest revenue month since the company’s inception in 1995.
Royal Philips Electronics has announced the release of SpeechExec 2.0 for BlackBerry. The software upgrade includes multiple new features that were designed to enhance mobile dictation by providing the ability to more easily transmit data, include more data in the recording files and make the smart phone a full-fledged dictation device.
Attunity, a provider of real-time data integration and and event capture software, has announced that Preferred Strategies, a provider of business intelligence software for enterprise resource planning systems, will integrate and distribute Attunity’s software as part of its BI Quick Launch for JD Edwards (JDE) product line to provide a solution that enables customers using JDE to leverage and benefit from real-time data warehousing for Business Intelligence.

The two Proteus solutions provide centralized IPAM, the two Adonis 1000s are utilized for external DNS and the two Adonis 750s are utilized for internal DNS.
