Thomson Healthcare of Montvale, N.J. has launched www.PDRhealth.com, an online health site that pairs Thomson’s Physicians’ Desk Reference database of prescription drug information with comprehensive diagnostic tools.

Chicago-based Allscripts has announced that ABQ Health Partners, the largest physician-owned multi-specialty group practice in the Southwest with 18 locations in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe, N.M., has selected the Allscripts electronic health record (EHR) to automate and connect their 250 physicians and mid-level caregivers. In addition, Frankford Hospitals in Philadelphia has selected Allscripts’ Canopy care management solution to help manage and coordinate patient care. Also, Carolinas Medical Center – Northeast in Concord, N.C. has selected the HealthMatics ED Emergency Department Information System (EDIS).

SoftLight Development of Irving, Texas has unveiled Manage My Practice, a pay-per-use application that integrates medical practice management software into a user-friendly interface for medical offices and practice management firms.

Globerian, a subsidiary of Utah-based MediConnect Global and a leading healthcare BPO in India, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Utah as a health information research, analysis and management partner.

Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, Pa. has completed its first installation of a mobile digital mammography system in the United States. The MAMMOMAT NovationDR, a full-field digital mammography system, is featured as part of the Nevada Cancer Institute’s new Hope Coach, a mobile digital mammography van serving the Las Vegas area. In addition, the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology has announced that Siemens’ Soarian Clinicals V2.05 with Siemens Pharmacy and Med Administration Check V24.0 has achieved pre-market, conditional certification for the newly launched 2007 standards for impatient electronic health records.
