Summit Healthcare announced a new partnership with Port Angeles, Wash.-based Olympic Medical Center, and the successful implementation of Summit Healthcare's interface engine technology at the acute care facility. The Summit Express Connect interface engine enabled Olympic Medical to replace seven interface engines with just one, and to consolidate 97 point-to-point interfaces down to just 36 total feeds - including just 8 master inbound and outbound feeds. The projected first year ROI from eliminating maintenance fees is estimated at just under $122,000.

GE Healthcare announced the launch of Centricity Business 5.0, the next-generation revenue cycle management solution for hospital networks, academic medical centers, large practices and physician billing groups. Centricity Business 5.0 helps enterprises achieve greater profitability and efficiency by streamlining administrative tasks from front desk to billing office, and accelerating revenue collection from payers to providers.

Health Care DataWorks announced a multi-year agreement with Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) to provide a clinical data repository using HCD’s Enterprise Data Warehouse Appliance. The goal of this project is to collect timely and accurate cost and quality data and make it available to PHS’ users for informed decision making. By taking these steps, PHS will have the ability to measure the performance of organizational cost and quality efforts. 

Claron Technology
has received International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification in three categories for its quality management system, testifying to the strength of its imaging IT solutions. From its recently introduced Nil zero-footprint web-based DICOM viewer to its ClaroNav surgical-guidance-by-video platform and versatile Withinsight Framework (WIF) advanced visualization software framework, Claron’s advanced technology has established the company as an industry innovator since its inception in 2001.

VitalHealth Software announced that its VitalHealth EHR version 1.8, the latest version of its EHR solution for small practices, is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on August 8, 2011 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (H&HS). VitalHealth EHR for Practices was specifically built for small physician practices with fewer than 10 practitioners.

Omnicell announced a joint partnership with Premier Purchasing Partners, L.P., the group purchasing unit of Premier Inc. The 36-month agreement allows Premier member hospitals and healthcare organizations to take advantage of premium pricing for the comprehensive suite of award-winning Omnicell medication and supply management solutions. Designed to maximize Premier members’ clinical and operational performance, this new agreement is effective from July 2011 through June 2014.

Carestream Health announced that it has shipped its 2,500th wireless DRX detector. The CARESTREAM DRX-1 was the industry’s first wireless, cassette-size detector. Carestream now has a family of six DRX-based systems that help streamline workflow, improve productivity and enhance patient care in both in-room and mobile environments. Each DRX detector can be used in multiple systems at a facility. For example, a detector can be used in a mobile unit for early morning rounds at a hospital and then moved to a general radiology room for the rest of the day. Detectors can also be moved from day use in general radiology exam rooms to mobile units that serve the emergency department at night.

RaySearch Laboratories announced an order for its RayStation treatment planning system from Health Quest Systems, Inc. Health Quest’s radiation oncology enterprise comprises the departments of four community locations that have been serving regional patients in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887. They are; Dyson Cancer Center at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, Ulster Radiation Oncology Center in Kingston, a joint venture with Benedictine Hospital, Fishkill Radiation Oncology in Fishkill and Wagner Cancer Pavilion at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, respectively.

Awarepoint  announced that it has secured $27 million in Series F financing. New investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) led the round of financing, which also included participation from new investor Top Tier Capital Partners, and existing investors Cardinal Partners, Venrock, and Jafco Ventures. Awarepoint will use the capital to fuel the company's next stage of growth and drive further adoption of its pioneering aware360°Platform. Awarepoint's aware360° suite of RTLS-enabled solutions help hospital clients reduce hard operating costs, boost top-line revenues, and increase compliance management and patient satisfaction.
 
Physio-Control, a subsidiary of Medtronic, announced commercial availability of the ReadyLink 12-Lead ECG device, a new, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k)-cleared solution designed to improve care for heart attack patients and expand regional STEMI systems. ReadyLink enables basic life support (BLS) emergency medical service (EMS) providers to acquire and transmit a patient’s 12-lead ECG to hospitals using the LIFENET System, Physio-Control’s cloud-based data network for remote physician interpretation and decision support.
 
MEDecision announced that it has earned the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) Software Certification for its preventive health and wellness Clinical Intelligence Rules that help healthcare organizations proactively identify opportunities to improve member health through interventions based on evidence-based medicine.
