IBM has announced that Shared Health, one of the nation's largest public/private Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), is using IBM InfoSphere software and services to power its newly launched Clinical Xchange data exchange platform.

The IntelliDOT Corporation of San Diego has announced that Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. has implemented the company's IntelliDOT BMA bedside medication administration software, which has been integrated with the hospital's existing MEDITECH client/server healthcare information system (HIS).

Phytel, a Dallas-based provider of automated patient care solutions, has announced an agreement with TransforMED, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Academy of Family Physicians, to make its Proactive Patient Outreach product available to participating physicians. The Proactive Patient Outreach product is designed to improve coordination of care by automating the follow-up process for a practice's patient population, particularly those patients with chronic conditions and those in need of preventive care services.

Global Works Systems, Inc. of Colchester, Vt. has released the latest version of its One Look patient scheduling integration software. Originally designed for GE Centricity Business Scheduling (IDX Flowcast Scheduling) and Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, One Look now offers integration with any practice management scheduling application that leverages HL7 technology, including Misys Tiger, McKesson Scheduling, centricity Practice Management and Allscripts Practice Management.

Highpoint Solutions LLC of King of Prussia, Pa. has completed an agreement to acquire Aptiv Technology Partners, LLC, a Chevy Chase, Md.-based healthcare technology consulting firm.

MEDai, Inc. of Orlando, Fla. has announced that it will be unveiling new capabilities in its product suite that will allow clients to modify existing MEDai evidence-based guidelines.

Concuity, a healthcare division of Dublin, Ireland-based Trintech, has announced that the HealthEast Care System of St. Paul, Minn. has selected ClearContracts to enhance contract negotiation capabilities and improve the recovery of underpaid claims.

RelayHealth, based in Atlanta, has announced that Regence, the largest health insurer in the Northwest/Intermountain region, will implement the company's ProPBM software to support the management of pharmacy benefit accounts in Oregon, Washington, Utah and Idaho, as well as nationwide accounts.

SRSsoft of Montvale, N.J. has announced that the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology has certified SRS CareCast Version 7.0 as meeting the commission's ambulatory electronic health record criteria for 2007.

Keane, Inc. of San Ramon, Calif. has announced that The Johns Hopkins Hospital has signed a multi-year contract to deploy a front-end admission discharge and transfer (ADT) solution and upgrade the hospital's existing back-end billing solution to Keane's new browser-based EZ Access Patcom solution.
