Quality Systems, Inc. announced that its dental unit, QSIDental, will partner Suni Medical Imaging, which develops digital radiography products for dental professionals. Under the agreement, dental practices, academic institutions and more can integrate Suni’s sensors, panoramic, cephalometic and 3-D imaging products with QSIDental’s solutions, including the NextGen electronic dental record.

Intelligent InSites announced that Family HealthCare Center (FHC), a private, non-profit healthcare provider serving the communities of Cass County, ND, and Clay County, Minn., will benefit from faster and more cost-efficient care as a result of implementing its Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) solution.

Allscripts announced that Ridgeview Medical Center has selected the Allscripts Electronic Health Record and Practice Management solution, as well as the Allscripts Community Record powered by dbMotion to deliver end-to-end connectivity across its health system and the communities it serves. Ridgeview will use the solution to create Minnesota’s first functioning community Health Information Exchange (HIE), providing the more than 300 Ridgeview employed and affiliated physicians shared access to a single, unified patient record.

Ingenious Med announced its new business intelligence and data analysis solution. The product offering, Imagine, is a comprehensive business analytics platform providing real-time, actionable decision making data to healthcare organizations. The analytics system measures individual physician activities, providing dashboards to monitor overall department and organizational performance to improve patient care and drive physician productivity.

VMware, Inc. announced that its solutions will underpin a new approach to delivering cloud-based collaborative patient care from Peake Healthcare Innovations, a joint venture of Harris Corporation and Johns Hopkins Medicine. Peake is working with VMware and Intel Corporation to provide a secure cloud platform for the management and delivery of enterprise medical imaging to any health care facility by enabling physicians and other health care personnel to quickly and securely access medical images from a variety of end-user devices.

McKesson and Health Management Associates, Inc. have agreed on a new technology purchasing program that gives Health Management member hospitals long-term access to McKesson’s most advanced pharmacy automation solutions within a simplified, fixed pricing structure. The three-year, sole-source agreement provides Health Management’s hospitals access to McKesson’s complete suite of pharmacy automation solutions, enabling them to standardize systems and procedures across hospital sites.

GE Healthcare announced that Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y., has met all the criteria, and attested, for eligible hospital meaningful use and is now using Centricity electronic medical record (EMR) solutions for both inpatient and outpatient settings. The distinguished academic medical center, consistently ranked among America’s best hospitals, is the first enterprise to implement GE Healthcare’s meaningful use-certified EMR solutions across its ambulatory and hospital settings.

EXTENSION, INC.
announced that Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, Va., has successfully implemented its advanced clinical workflow solutions for nursing staff in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. EXTENSION has integrated more than 200 Cisco 7925 IP handsets with Sentara's Rauland-Borg Responder 5 Nurse Call System to automatically deliver critical alerts. EXTENSION has also integrated with Philips Monitors in the NICU to deliver a variety of alerts relating to an infant's vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen and more.

PatientPoint announced a strategic partnership with ACME MSO to provide automated care coordination services for its Clinical Value Network (CVN) of providers. Since its founding in 2001, ACME MSO has provided turnkey management services to IPAs that serve thousands of greater Chicago area residents. These IPAs have come together to form CVN, a network of more than 100 physicians to manage and administer care for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and Wellcare Harmony members. This new operating model requires providers to be more accountable – both clinically and financially – for patient care.

Peake Healthcare Innovations, a joint venture between Harris Corporation and Johns Hopkins Medicine, announced a new approach to medical image management. With its PeakeSecure cloud archiving platform, Peake is providing complete managed service solutions from the cloud to assist healthcare providers with the complex challenge of storing and managing medical images and related healthcare information. Peake has leveraged both organizations’ expertise to develop a secure, reliable cross-enterprise image archiving system which hosts industry-best viewing and workflow applications.

PerfectServe announced that it connects more than 20,000 physicians through its platform across 154 U.S. healthcare markets and 50 hospitals in health systems including Advocate Health, Orlando Health, St. Joseph Health System and Dignity Health.The platform is processing more than 35 million clinical communication transactions per year, enabling health systems to simplify and streamline nurse-to-physician and physician-to-physician communication while allowing doctors to selectively filter and control the communications they receive.

Stereotaxis announced that its Vdrive Robotic Navigation System, which provides physicians the ability to remotely manipulate traditionally non-robotic catheters, is growing in popularity and is expected to surpass 500 clinical procedures in Europe in February.  The company also announced it has received regulatory clearance from Health Canada to commercially market the device in Canada. Since the initial product release in Europe in 2011, the Vdrive system has been installed in nine centers, with units scheduled to be installed in additional centers during the first quarter of 2012.

McKesson announced that Radiology Associates of Northern Kentucky, the largest private radiology practice in Greater Cincinnati, has replaced its long-time billing vendor with McKesson Revenue Management Solutions (RMS). To increase reimbursements and strengthen regulatory compliance, the 32-physician practice will use McKesson RMS’s radiology billing services, financial reporting and compliance support. Backed by more than 1,200 radiology billing experts, RMS services are designed to help practices grow revenues and control costs while staying current with the latest regulatory requirements.

Intelligent InSites announced that its InSites RTLS solution supports ThingMagic Astra readers for passive RFID data integration. “The ability of the InSites solution to automatically collect and intelligently process real-time location data from a variety of locating technologies is unique in the RTLS space,” said Ralf Mehnert-Meland, director of developer/OEM relationships at Intelligent InSites. “We continue to expand our enterprise software by adding support for a multitude of data sources, such as passive RFID from ThingMagic readers, to support our healthcare clients in choosing the best RTLS technologies for their particular requirements.”

CGI Group Inc. and Toronto-based Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre announced the launch of CGI’s Sovera Health Information Management (HIM) System (Sovera), an enterprise clinical content management solution that officials say will strengthen. Sunnybrook’s vision for building the future of healthcare has moved the health system to an electronic patient record (EPR) that allows the health records for the over 2.5 million patients registered at Sunnybrook to be securely accessed by medical staff and health data records analysts at anytime through a web-based browser.

The TriZetto Group, announced that the Northern Arizona Regional Behavioral Health Authority (NARBHA), which serves more than 700,000 people in the northern half of the state, has selected TriZetto’s QNXTTM enterprise core administration system to support its plans to grow membership, launch new lines of business and most efficiently meet state reporting requirements. Based in Flagstaff, Ariz., the private, not-for-profit Medicaid corporation expects to go live on TriZetto’s platform in the spring of 2012.

SRS announced that its developers have created an enhanced version of the company's ONC-certified EHR that offers an new, higher level of usability. "The first version of the certified SRS EHR met all of the government's requirements in a very productivity-focused manner—but SRS has standards for usability and efficiency that far exceed the government's," says Evan Steele, CEO of SRSsoft.

ID Experts announced RADAR 2.0 is a Web-based tool for healthcare IT to simplify compliance by integrating Federal HIPAA/HITECH requirements and all state breach notification laws. Whenever there is a privacy breach, a user inputs info into RADAR 2.0 to centralize and simplify the assessment, documentation and reporting process.

Shareable Ink and Resource Anesthesia announced the deployment of Shareable Ink Anesthesia Suite. Resource Anesthesia reports being able to now capture data more efficiently to share with its hospital and surgery center partners, enhancing their ability to report on quality management initiatives, facility billing, and OR efficiency.
 
Healthcare Data Solutions announced a new partnership with Concur, a provider of integrated travel and expense management solutions. This partnership will allow medical device, pharmaceutical and other healthcare companies to pull HDS’ accurate, information-rich data into their expense reports for streamlined, single-entry reporting and compliance with the Sunshine Act.

SRS announced that Mendelson/Kornblum Orthopedic and Spine Surgeons has selected the SRS EHR for its 37 providers. Mendelson/Kornblum Orthopedics is headquartered in Livonia, Mich., and has three office locations.

Healthcare Management Systems announced that Acadia Healthcare Company, Inc. has chosen its suite of fully integrated financial-management applications to help maximize the operating efficiency of more than two dozen of its facilities nationwide. HMS applications and modules, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Health Information Management, Patient Accounting, Pharmacy and Referral Tracking, will be rolled out to Acadia’s network of behavioral health facilities.

Sproxil announced that consumers within regions of Africa have used its Mobile Product Authentication (MPA) technology more than one million times to verify their medication. Pharmaceutical companies and regulatory organizations in these regions have been leveraging Sproxil’s MPA solution since the company launched to protect consumers from taking potentially harmful counterfeit and substandard drugs.

MEDSEEK announced its engagement with Banner Health to deliver a fully integrated patient, consumer, physician and employee experience, enabling Banner to attract and engage patients and facilitate communication between physicians and patients. The commitment, which also includes the development of an enterprise-wide employee experience, provides a unified, online view of secure, clinical data for Banner’s 7,000 physicians, and their patients, across a network of 23 hospitals in seven Western states.

Availity announced that it has achieved Common Security Framework (CSF) certification from the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST). Achieving HITRUST CSF certification, the security benchmark for health care organizations in the United States, enhances Availity’s ability to lower costs for its customers by reducing their need to conduct costly third-party audits, while at the same time reducing their risk of security and privacy breaches.

Liaison Technologies announced an agreement with Microsoft to connect its services to Microsoft HealthVault, a personal health application platform. The connection with Liaison’s services will enable HealthVault users to access more data from more sources while maintaining absolute control over personal health information, including who users choose to share it with. The collaboration will make it easier for patients to be in command over their personal health data by connecting with more than 300 applications and 70 devices that help individuals maintain fitness goals, keep track of records and prescriptions and lead healthier lives overall.

MedeAnalytics announced that Shriners Hospitals for Children selected MedeAnalytics’ Clinical Performance Manager solution to drive clinical quality initiatives. Procedures performed across Shriners’ 22 facilities can now be compared on the basis of cost and quality, enhancing overall resource utilization for the system. Shriners also expanded its use of MedeAnalytics’ Revenue Cycle Intelligence and Compliance and Revenue Integrity solutions.

T-System has introduced the new T-System Performance solution, Care Continuity, a Web-based tool that will promote hospital-physician alignment and higher care quality by actively managing patient care transitions and providing an automated way to send and receive patient referrals. The T-System Performance Care Continuity solution allows hospitals to invite any physician to connect with them online. Participating doctors can receive real-time alerts whenever their patients register in the emergency department (ED), are admitted or discharged as well as a copy of the patient’s record.

McKesson
announced that St. Mark’s Medical Center will replace its aging legacy medical imaging solution with McKesson’s Horizon Medical Imaging picture archiving communications system (PACS). In addition to streamlining workflow, the community hospital in LaGrange, Texas, expects to increase inter-departmental collaboration and enhance radiologists’ productivity while reducing overall departmental costs. Horizon Medical Imaging creates a fully-integrated environment to help providers analyze and archive medical images and diagnostic reports, making them available across the enterprise.

Prolexic Technologies announced that it has launched a new customer program called “Protected by Prolexic.” Prolexic will offer incentives to new and existing customers who sign up to display the Protected by Prolexic logo on their websites. “By joining the Protected by Prolexic program, businesses will be sending a strong, clear message to customers, competitors, and even cyber attackers that they are taking the threat of DDoS attacks seriously enough to secure the services of the gold standard in DDoS mitigation,” said Paul Sop, chief technology officer at Prolexic.

Allscripts announced that NorthCrest Medical Center will deploy Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) acute care EHR to support its mission of becoming one of the nation’s best hospitals. “Our goal at NorthCrest is to be the best hospital across every measure of patient care, and Allscripts will help us get there,” said Scott Raynes, Chief Executive Officer of NorthCrest, a 109-bed hospital that was recently named one of the nation’s top performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission.

MEDSEEK announced an agreement with Scripps Health to deliver an enterprise digital health solution for physicians,  employees and patients to improve communication and collaboration, establish online clinical and business transactional capabilities to improve operational efficiencies, and attract and retain patients. MEDSEEK’s enterprise software suite will support Scripps in meeting federal Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements for patient access to electronic health records while providing advanced functionality. The suite, which leverages Scripps’ existing investment in SharePoint 2010, also positions the organization for accountable care.

TeleHealth Services announced that it has partnered with Centra Health (Centra) to deploy the TIGR interactive patient education system across the health system's acute care facilities. Centra is a technology driven, award-winning health system with state-of-the-art hospitals and health center facilities well known nationwide for their excellence in clinical and patient care. The partnership is focused on developing resources to transform patient care at Centra Lynchburg General and Centra Virginia Baptist Hospitals.
 
ChartLogic announced that its new Stella program uses the voice recognition technology found in the Apple Siri application to enable physicians to call-up EHR templates, dictate notes and e-prescribe. While voice recognition technology is not new, Stella is the first such program that incorporates the new CDA (common document architecture) standard now incorporated into all EHRs certified for meaningful use. Stella is a Web-based clinical documentation "overlay" to EHRs. It allows physicians to dictate, type, or touch (iPad) to create or reuse clinical documentation. Stella  does not replace the existing EHR, PACS or e-prescribing software, but works to integrate them and make them easily accessible.

GE Healthcare introduced Centricity Patient Online 13 – a flexible, scalable and highly configurable patient portal designed for large healthcare organizations. By extending the provider workflow to the patient’s home with a range of easy-to-use self-service tools, officials say Patient Online enhances patient communications, optimizes staff and provider productivity and can help strengthen the provider’s market and competitive position. It helps customers meet Meaningful Use Stage 1 patient and family engagement criteria and prepare them for expected Stage 2 requirements.

McKesson announced that Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, Calif., has selected McKesson Revenue Management Solutions (RMS) to help transform its revenue cycle operations. With 100 physicians and 115 residents, Kern will use McKesson’s solution to help consolidate and simplify professional fee billing and accounts receivable management across its clinics and physician practices.
RMS will interface with the medical center’s existing McKesson Horizon Practice Plus billing system to help eliminate inefficiencies and create a streamlined patient experience.

Summit Healthcare announced a new partnership with Memorial Hospital of Converse County (MHCC), a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Douglas, Wyo. With MEDITECH as its primary healthcare information system and its successful migration to the 6.0 platform, Memorial Hospital of Converse County was looking to further its interconnectivity while controlling integration costs. In order to meet its immediate and future interoperability goals, MHCC has chosen to leverage Summit Healthcare’s Express Connect interface engine technology and integration management services.

Avecto has now unveiled the latest version of its award-winning Privilege Guard technology. Developed to enable organizations to give all users the privileges they need to remain productive, Privilege Guard empowers them to perform their role without impacting the security posture of systems and networks. Privilege Guard 3.0 now combines application elevation, application control, end user messaging and a complete auditing and reporting framework for all your Windows based systems.

InVivoLink and the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR) have announced the two organizations will collaborate on technology that automates the feed of orthopedic implant data to the AJRR’s registry platform. The direct link between InVivoLink’s registry data acquisition tools and the AJRR facilitates a nationwide orthopedic implant registry project designed to monitor medical device performance and improve patient outcomes.

PerfectServe announced that Advocate Christ Medical Center, a 695-bed magnet hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill., and part of Advocate Health Care, recently selected PerfectServe's clinical communication and information delivery platform to standardize communications between physicians and nursing, pharmacy and ancillary teams to improve care coordination for patients. PerfectServe will enable a single, standardized process for staff at Advocate Christ Medical Center to quickly connect with physicians across the continuum of care. This will allow information to route faster, with greater accuracy, reliability and safety resulting in fewer communication breakdowns and improved care coordination.

Karos Health announced that it has signed an agreement with CGI Group Inc. to deploy Rialto Discover, a ready-made solution built on the Rialto clinical information exchange and storage platform. This news follows the recent eHealth Ontario, Canada Health Infoway and CGI announcements regarding the Diagnostic Imaging repository (DI-r) solution that will benefit 1.5 million patients and 10,000 clinicians.

Novation announced that the Child Health Corporation of America (CHCA) has signed an agreement to utilize and benefit from Novation's contracting and supply chain solutions. The CHCA Board of Directors chose Novation as the best supply cost reduction partner based on due diligence and recommendations by a member-led task force representing CHCA's children's hospital members with more than $2 billion in annual purchases.
