Vendor Notebook - Picis signs six North American deals

Picis, Inc. of Wakefield, Mass. has signed agreements with six American and Canadian health systems to replace their existing operating room and anesthesia information systems with Picis systems. The systems are Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City, Enloe Medical Center and Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare in California, the Ottawa Hospital of Ontario, Tufts Medical Center in Boston and the University Health System of San Antonio, Texas.

CDW Healthcare, based in Vernon Hills, Ill., has announced that the United Regional Health Care System, a 565-bed acute-care facility in Wichita Falls, Texas has launched the initial phase of its electronic care documentation project with a custom-designed cart solution configured and deployed by the company.

SciHealth, Inc. has announced that St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Texas has selection the company's Insight performance management software.

CareEvolution of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Thomson Reuters have announced a partnership to integrate Thomson Reuters' Medical Episode Grouper (MEG) into CareEvolution's clinical cockpit to deliver comprehensive patient medical histories of all medications and treatments.

Thomson Reuters has been chosen by the Kansas Health Policy Authority to develop a data system to analyze the cost and effectiveness of healthcare in Kansas. The system, comprises of a data repository and data analytic interface, will contain information from the Medicaid management information system, the state employee health benefit program and the Kansas health insurance information system.

InterComponentWare, Inc. of Wayne, Pa. has announced that Coventry Health Care, Inc., based in Bethesda, Md., has selected ICW's Professional Exchange Server and Device Connectivity Solution as the interoperability platform for a home health telemonitoring program.

Greenway Medical Technologies, a Carrollton, Ga.-based provider of single-database electronic medical record and practice management solutions, has announced a partnership with ZirMed, a Louisville, Ky.-based developer of revenue cycle management products, to integrate ZirMed's suite of revenue cycle, financial service and decision-support tools into Greenway's PrimeSuite EHR product.

MEDSEEK, based in Birmingham, Ala., has announced that Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles has gone live with the company's eConnect clinical portal.

AeroScout, Inc. of Redwood City, Calif. has announced that Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Michigan has implemented the company's Unified Asset Visibility solutions to track the location of patients throughout the hospital.

HP has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Colubris Networks, Inc., a Waltham, Mass.-based provider of wireless networks for enterprises and service providers. HP plans to integrate Colubris' product line into its ProCurve Networking product portfolio to expend into vertical markets such as healthcare.
