Merge Healthcare has announced the release of Merge Financials 6.1, the latest revenue cycle management solution for Merge’s billing community. Merge Financials now includes capabilities to prepare physician practices for upcoming reimbursement changes. In particular, the solution facilitates the transition of electronic data exchange to the new ANSI 5010 required format, accommodates new PQRI procedures and reporting, and begins the planning process for the upcoming ICD-10 requirements. Additionally, the new Merge Financials 6.1 allows for full conversion of patient accounts and accounts receivable data from legacy billing solutions.
RealMed has announced a multi-year agreement with Cincinnati, Ohio-based Catholic Health Partners (CHP) to provide the health system with tools that maximize revenue while improving efficiency. RealMed’s award-winning revenue cycle management solution will help CHP remove costs from the business side of its multi-state system.

QuantiaMD, the online physician community, has created a mental health expert reviewer program designed by doctors to improve the care of patients with psychiatric disorders. NextGen has announced that Gray, Ky.-based Grace Community Health Center, has secured in excess of $150,000 in state Medicaid incentives by demonstrating its recent selection of the company’s certified electronic health records (EHR) solution. With the support of the Kentucky Regional Extension Center, Grace CHC registered its physicians for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program in February 2010 and quickly secured the maximum payment amount of $21,500 per physician from the government.
Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that Parkland Memorial Hospital has selected its ProVation MD software for gastroenterology procedure documentation and coding. ProVation MD replaces dictation and transcription and allows physicians to efficiently document procedures at the point of care. Available for a full range of medical specialties, ProVation software streamlines the coding and billing process and enhances compliance by producing complete, coding-ready and image-enhanced procedure notes.
INFINITT, a global player in picture archiving and communications systems (PACS), radiology information systems (RIS) and 3D visualization software, announced that that they have signed a three-year contract extension to provide Enterprise-wide PACS solutions for The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NUTH), one of the largest National Health Service (NHS) Trusts in the UK.

Sage Healthcare Division has announced that COSSMA, a Puerto Rico-based community health center with more than 23 years serving several communities throughout the island, has chosen to implement the Sage Intergy Meaningful Use Edition to meet the practice’s financial and clinical needs. Sage’s CAP allowed COSSMA, Inc. to implement an EHR, moving from Sage HealthPro practice management system at no cost for the software. Through CAP, COSSMA, Inc. only had to incur hardware and service agreement costs.
RelayHealth has expanded its relationship with HANYS Solutions, the for-profit subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS), as the preferred partner for revenue cycle management solutions for HANYS’ member hospitals and health systems across the state. The expanded agreement offers New York’s health care providers the benefits of RelayHealth’s end-to-end solutions to manage revenue in patient access and financial services divisions.
Lincor announced that Collingwood General & Marine (G&M) Hospital in Ontario is set to install its state-of-the-art bedside computers to provide staff and patients with access to clinical and multimedia applications at the point of care. With Lincor’s MEDIVista solution running site wide, the G&M system includes specially designed touch screen computers installed at every bed for accessing critical hospital management and diagnostic systems, while also offering a suite of entertainment, education and communications services to patients.
