McKesson has announced an ICD-10 Transition Service that takes a three-step approach to help organizations move to the new coding system, regardless of their information systems vendor. The service starts with a readiness assessment, to compare the provider’s current technology, processes and operations to what is needed under ICD-10. Based on this analysis, a customized roadmap is developed. McKesson continues to provide support throughout the ICD-10 transition to ensure that new systems and services are deployed to meet the requirements. Training also is offered to help clinicians learn to document procedures with the level of specificity needed under the new mandate.

NextGen announced an agreement with IASIS Healthcare for the deployment of NextGen Practice Management and its full-service revenue cycle management (RCM) offering, NextGen Practice Solutions. Under the agreement, IASIS will deploy these services across its network of 19 hospitals in seven states to drive best practice processes.

EXTENSION announced that its growing customer base now includes numerous implementations within the VA that are enhancing communications between nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals. In Q3 of 2011, one-third of all EXTENSION accounts sold were in the public sector indicating EXTENSION's momentum within this healthcare community. EXTENSION recently hired a dedicated public sector representative who is focused on better understanding the clinical workflow needs of staff within the VA and DoD and ensuring their specific workflow challenges are solved

SRS announced that Commonwealth Orthopaedics has selected the SRS EHR for its 91 providers. Commonwealth Orthopaedics is a prominent provider of high-quality care in northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C areas.

VHA announced that it was worked with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, helping it save nearly $49 million in less than two years. As one of Texas' largest not-for-profit health care systems, serving southeast Texas and the greater Houston community, MHHS includes 13 hospitals and a vast network of affiliated physicians and specialty programs and services.

MEDSEEK announced its support for the HealthIT “Putting the I in HealthIT” program, spearheaded by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). MEDSEEK joins leading healthcare organizations, vendors and the ONC in vowing to empower patients to be partners in their own health. “Taking the HealthIT pledge is a natural step for MEDSEEK because the campaign’s goals perfectly align with our core values,” said Peter Kuhn, MEDSEEK CEO. The HealthIT initiative emphasizes the importance of healthcare providers’ adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and other healthcare technologies.

RF Surgical Systems announced that Atlanta Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center based in Atlanta, has selected the RF Assure Detection System for use in all of its operating rooms to prevent the dangerous and costly medical error of retained surgical items (RSIs). The hospital is among the first to implement this type of error-preventative technology in the Atlanta area, officials say.

dbMotion announced that its interoperability platform has been selected by the Unity Health System in New York to facilitate far-reaching health information exchange efforts. Officials say the dbMotion Solution will connect disparate technologies across the enterprise, extend Unity Health’s advanced patient-centered medical home (PCMH) capability, and advance the organization’s robust care management and population health initiatives as part of a NY State funded initiative called the Unity Community Diabetes Collaborative.

Kony Solutions announced that Intermountain Healthcare has selected Kony as its mobile application platform. Kony’s Write Once, Run Everywhere technology enables mobile deployment across more than 9,000 mobile smartphones/tablets/kiosks and operating systems, allowing Intermountain to offer its providers and patients brand‐consistent, robust mobile solutions, regardless of the device they use. Intermountain is a Utah-based system of 22 nonprofit hospitals, 185 clinics, a medical group, a health plans division called SelectHealth, and other health services.

Fulcrum Methods announced the formal release of EP Tracker. Hospitals, health care systems, and medical groups use EP Tracker to ensure affiliated eligible professionals (EPs) have properly registered for and successfully completed requirements to qualify for meaningful use incentives.
EP Tracker s a SaaS-based interactive tool that helps centrally administer the lifelong process of individual EP registration and reporting/attestation.

Summit Healthcare announced a new partnership with Masonicare in Wallingford, Conn. Masonicare offers a full range of senior focused inpatient and outpatient care and currently runs MEDITECH as its primary healthcare information system. Masonicare had been investigating ways to control integration costs primarily around interface management, officials say.
