Vendor Notebook: InnerWireless deploys wireless IT at Virginia Hospital Center

InnerWireless, based in Richardson, Texas, has announced that the Virginia Hospital Center will deploy the company’s Horizon Converged Wireless across 1.1 million square feet in three buildings on its Arlington, Va. campus.
Varian Medical Systems has announced that the Acibadem Healthcare Group in Istanbul, Turkey, the first hospital in that nation to offer cancer patients radiotherapy treatments using the company’s RapidArc machines, has ordered four more machines for outs new clinics in Adana and Kayseri.
Noteworthy Medical Systems of Cleveland has announced an affiliation with MedX12, a Lousiville, Ky.-based software company, to expand the MedX12 suite of products designed to help physician practices become paperless. Noteworthy will power such MedX12 products as NetPracticePM and NetPracticeEHRweb.
TeleTracking Technologies, Inc. of Pittsburgh has announced a new contract with CIBER, Inc., based in Glenwood Village, Col., to help design and develop new products for the company’s PatientFlow 2.0 rollout.
Aspyra, Inc., has entered into an agreement with Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada, Okla., to upgrade the hospital’s laboratory and imaging department systems to the most current releases of Aspyra’s CyberLAB Laboratory Information System, CyberPATH Anatomic Pathology Systems and CyberRAD Radiology Information System.
Wolters Kluwer Health, based in Minneapolis, has announced that Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center in Houston, Texas, has selected the company’s ProVation MD software for procedure documentation and coding. The software will be used to document more than 2,000 gastroenterology and pulmonary procedures performed annually at the hospital.
Elsevier, a Philadelphia-based developer of online and medical publishing solutions for the healthcare field, has announced that Dallas-based CHRISTUS Health will install five of the company’s online clinical decision support solutions – First Consult, Clinical Pharmacology, ToxED 2.0, MD Consult and Mosby’s Nursing Consult. In addition, Elsevier has announced the availability of the CMS Never Events section within Mosby’s Nursing Consult, an online tool designed to help nurses prevent the 10 “Never Events” identified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The BrainScope Company, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based company backed by Steve Case, has announced that its first device, the ZOOM-100DC brain electrical activity data collection system, has been cleared for marketing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
RelayHealth, a provider of healthcare connectivity services and subsidiary of Atlanta-based McKesson, has teamed with Framingham, Mass.-based Identity Force to provide identity protection, compliance and data breach solutions exclusively endorsed by the American Hospital Association to hospitals.
Eclipsys, based in Atlanta, has announced that Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, Calif., has activated the Eclipsys Sunrise Pharmacy medication solution, which integrates with an earlier implementation of the Eclipsys Sunrise Acute Care CPOE solution.
Picis, Inc., of Wakefield, Mass., has announced that Virtua, the largest integrated delivery network in southern New Jersey, has selected Picis CareSuite perioperative and anesthesia software solutions for its nine facilities, consisting of four acute care hospitals and five ambulatory surgery clinics.
Tripwire, a Portland, Ore.-based developer of data center compliance and infrastructure management services, has announced that Medfusion, a Cary, N.C.-based provider of patient-to-provider online communications, has adopted Tripwire Enterprise to achieve and sustain compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The software is also being used to improve change process controls in Medfusion’s patient portal systems that support online transactions with customers.
viaLanguage, a Portland, Ore.-based provider of global translation and localization services, has set a Sept. 15 application deadline for its new translation grant program. The annual program will award $5,000 in in-kind translation services to an organization that shares the philosophy of improving healthcare access for ethnic communities.
Black Box Network Services of Lawrence, Pa., has signed a deal to provide voice communications, data infrastructure and technology products to Premier Purchasing Partners, LP, the group purchasing unit of San Diego-based Premier, Inc.
Marathon Health, based in Burlington, Vt., has signed a deal to provide integrated onsite health services for employees and spouses of Nashville, Tenn.-based Healthways, Inc., through Marathon’s Health Engagement System technology platform.
Vital Images, a Minneapolis-based provider of advanced visualization and analysis software, has announced a partnership to provide the Foundation Radiology Group of Pittsburgh with its software for use at FRG’s customer base of non-university-affiliated suburban and rural healthcare providers.
CardioDynamics, a San Diego-based developer of BuiZ impedance cardiography technology, has announced that its shareholders have approved the company’s merger, announced June 9, with SonoSite, Inc.

Integrated Digital Systems/Scan America, Inc., of Manassas, Va., has launched its MedDocs Key secure portable electronic patient health information application, as well as a MedSync option that will synchronize MedDocs Key with secure health information networks.
Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee has completed a project with Minneapolis-based HealthPartners, the largest non-profit health organization in the country, to integrate Merge’s radiology picture archiving and communications system (PACS) with an electronic health record solution from Epic. The new platform is based at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. and across 18 HealthPartners outpatient clinics and medical offices. In addition, Merge Healthcare has announced plans to acquire Confirma, a Seattle-based developer of computer assisted detection (CAD) software for medical imaging.
Philips Healthcare, a segment of Dutch-based Royal Philips Electronics, has announced that Gold Coast Hospital in Australia will implement the Philips CVIS system to grow its existing cardiac system capabilities in time for the opening of the new Gold Coast University Hospital in 2012. In addition, the company has launched the Xcelera R3.1 multimodality cardiology image management, analysis and reporting solution, which includes tele-cardiology capabilities.
