Gateway EDI announced a strategic alliance with AAPC, the training and credentialing organization for the medical coding industry. The partnership will feature Web-based educational resources to aid healthcare practices in preparing for the ICD-10 code set, which takes effect in October 2013.

SRS announced that Pediatric Orthopaedic Associates, P.C. (POA), has selected the SRS EHR for its 12 providers and 11 office locations. POA was founded in 1996 and cares for children throughout the greater Atlanta, Georgia, area.

ChartWise Medical Systems
announced that its flagship product, ChartWise:CDI, now includes support for both the current ICD-9 and forthcoming ICD-10 coding systems. With the ChartWise:CDI product, coders will now have the ability to hover over an ICD-9 code and view a pop-up displaying its corresponding ICD-10 code. By placing these updates in front of documentation specialists now, ChartWise is aiming to make them more comfortable with ICD-10 in advance of the switch.
 
Redspin announced it will offer expanded services in 2012 designed to improve the breadth and depth of IT security programs in place in the healthcare industry. New security services available from Redspin will include a Web-based, HIPAA Security Risk Analysis survey tool designed for hospitals and medical groups with large numbers of clinical locations, and custom business associate risk analysis to help ensure BA compliance with the HIPAA Security Rule.

Stereotaxis announced the completion of the first 50 clinical procedures using the Company's new Niobe ES system to treat patients with a variety of complex cardiac arrhythmias. A majority of the first 50 cases were performed to treat atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common type of cardiac arrhythmia. Positive initial results with the Niobe ES system in Europe demonstrate that the average time for completion of mapping and ablation for the initial AF patients was 69 minutes.

Sandia National Laboratories computer scientist Casey Deccio has developed a visualization tool known as DNSViz to help network administrators within the federal government and global IT community better understand Domain Name System Security (DNSSEC) and to help them troubleshoot problems. MDSL announced the launch of MDSL Smart TEM, the latest version of its market-leading TEM solution. MDSL Smart TEM will be revealed to the public for the first time on February 13 at the annual AOTMP TEM Conference, before forming the focal point of a US road show touring New York, Houston and Chicago.

MedeAnalytics announced today that Barnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare delivery system in New Jersey, has selected its Revenue Cycle Intelligence solution to drive its revenue cycle initiatives. Barnabas Health currently uses MedeAnalytics’ Patient Access Intelligence solution. Officials say the addition of the “back-end” Revenue Cycle Intelligence solution will provide complete, end-to-end revenue cycle access and visibility. The solution will be deployed in all six of Barnabas Health’s hospitals, as well as its ambulatory care centers.

Ingram Micro announced its new IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) services are readily available for resell by channel partners throughout the U.S. Developed in collaboration with U.S. Micro, Ingram Micro’s new ITAD Services enable solution providers to offer U.S. businesses and consumers the secure removal of data from all types of IT storage devices including hard disk drives, SD memory cards, printers, copiers or any other electronic device that carries a digital history.

Navicure announced that the company was selected as a member of the Arizona Regional Extension Center’s (REC) Vendor Alliance Program. The REC gives medical providers guidance about the technology vendors best suited to meet their practices’ needs and goals. This is the first time technology vendors that do not provide electronic health records (EHRs) have been invited to join the alliance, officials say.
