Vendor Notebook: eClinicalWorks opens Chicago office

eClinicalWorks announced the opening of its new location in Chicago, which officials say will provide a central U.S. presence and help it focus on implementation of its electronic health records in the Midwest. Currently, the company is headquartered in Westborough, Mass., and has additional offices in New York, California and Georgia.

eClinicalWorks also announced that Meritas Health Corporation has chosen its electronic medical records (EMR) system. Meritas Health Corporation is a multi-specialty group in Kansas City, Mo., with 72 employed physicians. The technology will also provide specialty-specific features as well as interface between eClinicalWorks and the multi-specialty group’s existing Cerner in-patient, LabCorp, and Quest systems, further automating workflow, officials say.

PatientPoint announced that it has been selected by Miami Children's Hospital to provide consulting services and to implement its patented HealthSync Care Coordination Platform. Based on the iOS platform, HealthSync offers patient tracking, patient care coordination and a complete set of mobile applications for patient engagement.

Nuance Communications
announced that it has closed the acquisition of Transcend Services, a provider of medical transcription and speech editing services. Officials say the combination of Nuance and Transcend will improve the way patient data is captured, processed and used across the small- to mid-size hospital market, which comprises approximately 90 percent of hospitals in the U.S.
 
Welch Allyn announced it has partnered with DETECTO to enable automated interface between the Welch Allyn Connex Vital Signs Monitor (Connex VSM), the Welch Allyn Connex Integrated Wall System (Connex IWS) and select DETECTO professional medical scales. Officials say the partnership allows Welch Allyn to expand its program of connected weight, height and body mass index (BMI) patient data solution for both physician and hospital customers in low-acuity settings.

SRS announced that Lakeside Orthopedics has selected the SRS EHR. Lakeside Orthopedics is located in Omaha, Nebraska, and has been providing quality orthopaedic care to patients in that area since 2004.

Perminova announced that Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, one of the nation’s leading heart hospitals, has installed Perminova EP at the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust Center for Cardiac Electrophysiology. Perminova EP is a web-based cardiovascular information system that manages scheduling, workflow, documentation and billing processes before, during and after cardiac electrophysiology (EP) procedures.

Omnicell announced that Texas Children’s Hospital implemented the comprehensive Omnicell G4 platform in its newly opened 15-story landmark hospital, Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women.The platform integrates with Texas Children’s electronic health record (EHR). Able to seamlessly transfer critical health information with virtually any HIS vendor, officials claim Omnicell is the only company offering an automated dispensing system that is modular EHR certified for meaningful use.

MediRevv announced that its existing client-partnership with Iowa Health System (IHS) is expanding to include its newly launched Revenue Integrity Service. MediRevv’s Revenue Integrity Service will help IHS, which is the fifth largest non-denominational health system in America, reduce the amount of lost revenue associated with its payer contracts.  

Napatech announced a comprehensive refresh of the existing family of 4x1 Gbps intelligent network adapters. The planned refresh will take advantage of the latest feature enhancements available on Napatech 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps intelligent network adapters as well as providing the capacity to support future product and feature enhancements.
