Vendor Notebook: Alere Health and AT&T target diabetes

Alere Health and AT&T have partnered on a project meant to provide patients with a better way to manage and control their diabetes. The companies will jointly deliver DiabetesManager, an end-to-end mobile health (mHealth) diabetes solution powered by WellDoc that will help adults with type 2 diabetes manage their health and engage with their caregivers.

McKesson announced the release of McKesson Cardiology 13.0, which officials bill as the only single database solution for cardiac and peripheral catheterization, hemodynamics monitoring, electrophysiology (EP), echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, nuclear cardiology and ECG/stress/holter management.

Harris Corporation announced an agreement with Quest Diagnostics that will expand the breadth of services offered by the Florida Health Information Exchange (HIE). The agreement calls for Harris to integrate its Direct Secure Messaging Services capability with the Care360 suite of solutions from Quest Diagnostics, enabling the Florida HIE to connect with all users and providers of the 11,000 physician offices in Florida currently using Care360.

MEDSEEK and GetWellNetwork announced a partnership to provide healthcare facilities with a patient engagement solution that will deliver patients greater access to personalized health information, interactive tools, educational materials and customized care plans.

Siemens Healthcare announced an agreement to enhance the syngo Workflow radiology information system (RIS) by incorporating eXposure, which is a comprehensive radiation dose management and reporting solution from Toronto-based Radimetrics. When combined with syngo Workflow RIS, the solution automatically captures the radiation dose information in a diagnostic report without any additional clicks or dictation, saving time for the radiologist, officials say.

CareCloud announced that it has partnered with Lone Star MSO, a medical practice management services organization in Texas, to offer CareCloud's cloud-based software and services to medical practice clients.

Prodigo Solutions announced that Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has adopted one of its eCommerce applications. ProdigoMarketplace is a hosted solution that connects buyers and sellers in a Web-based supplier network. The application provides Amazon-like search capabilities across supplier content, with rich product descriptions and imagery, officials say.

BridgeHead Software announced that Howard County Medical Center (HCMC), a critical access hospital in St. Paul, Neb., has selected BridgeHead’s Healthcare Data Management (HDM) Solution to protect and manage its rapidly proliferating patient data.

Welch Allyn announced that it has received FIPS 140-2 Level 1 validation for the integrated radio in its Connex Vital Signs Monitor (Connex VSM) 6500 Series and Connex Integrated Wall System (Connex IWS) 8500 Series, which officials say makes those devices the first vital signs monitors authorized for wireless deployment within U.S. federal government healthcare agencies.
