7 Medical Systems, LLC, a Minneapolis-based developer of on-demand picture archiving and communications systems, teleradiology, data backup and recovery and electronic medical record solutions, has announced that the University of Minnesota Boynton Health Service has adopted the company’s PACS service to improve the quality of care for its undergraduate and graduate population of more than 65,000 students.

MEDSEEK, a Birmingham, Ala.-based provider of healthcare enterprise portal connectivity solutions, has announced the successful launch of consumer portals at five North American hospitals: Advocate Healthcare in Chicago, the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, the EMH Regional Healthcare System in Elyria, Ohio, Forrest general Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss., and St. Joseph Hospital/the West Bend Clinic in West Bend, Wis.

The Eclipsys Corporation of Atlanta has announced that the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) has certified the company’s PeakPractice solution (version 1093) as an 08 ambulatory electronic health record, and that it meets the commission’s EHR criteria for office-based use.

MEDai, Inc., an Orlando, Fla.-based subsidiary of Elsevier and a provider of hospital outcomes analysis and predictive analytics solutions, has announced that Sharp HealthCare, a seven-facility system serving the San Diego area, will deploy the company’s Pinpoint Review solution to help identify patients at risk of developing hospital-acquired infections.

Inphonite, LLC, a Tucson, Ariz.-based developer of automated messaging systems for medical practices, has unveiled the InphoniteVoice Patient Messaging System, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) or customer-hosted solution that uses interactive voice response (IVR) technology.

Ekahau, a Reston, Va.-based developer of Wi-Fi-based real-time location systems (RTLS), is expanding its product line with the introduction of the T301W, a wristband tag designed for use in applications that determine the precise locations of people.

Aprima Medical Software, based in Dallas, has announced that Bend Urology Associates in Bend, Ore., has selected the company’s electronic medical record and practice management systems for its 10-provider practice. In addition, the company has announced a reseller agreement with Medical Reimbursement Management, a Johnson City, Tenn.-based medical billing company, which will sell the company’s EHR/PM software to physician practices in east Tennessee, western North Carolina and southwest Virginia.

McKesson, based in Atlanta, has announced that Bright Note Technology, which instantly populates all critical data on a patient chart, is now available across the entire spectrum of McKesson’s ambulatory electronic health record solutions for physician practices.

RelayHealth, a McKesson subsidiary and provider of healthcare connectivity services, has announced that 50 health systems and hospitals are now contracted for its software to facilitate health information exchange and care coordination.

eGistics, Inc., based in Dallas, has announced the availability of the eGistics Digital Medical Practice solution, which is designed to help healthcare providers electronically manage administrative documents such as those for patient registration, A/R management, contracts, human resources and credentialing.

The Allviant Corporation of Scottsdale, Ariz., has launched the CarePass pilot program at Arizona State University, allowing university officials to manage their healthcare relationships electronically as well as use the system to schedule flu and H1N1 vaccinations and provide appointment reminders, wellness alerts and mobile appointment check-ins.

The iSOFT Group Limited has announced that it will host its inaugural “Ideaworks for Healthcare” symposium from Oct. 21-23 at The Grove hotel in Hertfordshire, England.

Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions of Chicago has announced a partnership with Intuit, based in Mountain View, Calif., to integrate the new Quicken health Bill Pay solution into Allscripts practice management and revenue cycle management solutions. In addition, the company has announced that UMass Memorial Health Care will implement the Allscripts Electronic Health Record and Practice Management solution for private physicians in the community, including nearly 2,000 physicians affiliated with the health system. Also, the company has announced a partnership with the Iowa Health System to launch ePrescribe Iowa, an initiative to offer free Web-based e-prescribing to physicians throughout the state.

Qwest Communications has announced that Memorial Practice Management, based in Yakima, Wash., will use the company’s advanced communications network to connect MPM’s seven healthcare clinics in central Washington.

A-Life Medical, Inc., a San Diego-based provider of computer-assisted coding (CAC) products and services, has launched RecoverIt, a reconciliation solution designed to automate and reconcile the charge capture process.

Passport Health Communications, based in Franklin, Tenn., has launched eCashiering, a new solution that expands the company’s cash tracking and credit card processing services to include electronic check payment processing that doesn’t require a paper check, setting up payment plans either to the hospital or another third party or allowing patients to pay via the Internet or the phone.

GE Healthcare, based in Barrington, Ill., has announced that the Centegra Health System in McHenry, Ill., has selected the company’s Centricity Enterprise Electronic Medical Record.

Pharmacy OneSource, Inc., based in Bellevue, Wash., has announced that Frye Regional Medical Center in North Carolina has adopted the Simplifi 797 quality assurance software solution to meet requirements of USP Chapter 797 for compounding sites throughout the hospital.

HealthEdge, a Burlington, Mass.-based developer of software platform for healthcare payers, has announced that the Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island has selected HealthRules Payor and HealthRules Answers to enhance claim and benefit administration, reduce administrative costs, improve transparency and increase operational efficiencies.

Upp Technology, Inc., based in Downers Grove, Ill., has announced that Upp Software has developed and delivered and now offers a Statewide H1N1 Vaccine Provider Registration System, designed to accommodate the ordering and reporting needs of vaccine providers.

Iron Mountain Inc., based in Boston, is extending its Archive Services Platform to application providers, including corporate developers and independent software vendors, so that they can offer cloud storage with their applications.

K Software has released RightClickEncrypt, a Windows security program designed to allow users to encrypt and decrypt files and folders with a single click.

Matrox Graphics, Inc., of Montreal, has announced that the French company FENICS has validated the Matrox Xenia PRO display controller board with its DIAGNUM Workstation mammography computer-aided detection (CAD) solutions.

GetWellNetwork, Inc., based in Bethesda, Md., has unveiled GetWell Town, an interactive patient care system designed specifically for pediatric patients, designed to help children’s hospital actively engage pediatric patients and their families in the care process while address the needs of children, parents and hospital staff at the bedside.

CredenceHealth, Inc., based in Brentwood, Tenn., has announced a partnership with the Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) Solutions Group to leverage Web-based health information technology.

The ECRI Institute, a Plymouth Meeting, Pa.-based nonprofit that researches the best approaches to improving patient care, will offer a free educational breakfast seminar, “Top Ten Health Technology Hazards,” on Monday, Nov. 9 at Edward Hospital and Health Services in Naperville, Ill., and Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

Emerson Network Power, a business of Columbus, Ohio-based Emerson, has opened a Learning Center for employees, customers and partners in Westerville, Ohio.

Corsair Communications of Fremont, Calif., has launched a revamped Flash Voyager GT product lineup, including USB flash drives with capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

The Serviance Media Corporation of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has launched TheMedicalStop.com, a Web site designed to allow members of the healthcare industry to collaborate and exchange views on either industry-wide issues or topical niches.

The Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) has added two organizations to its list of professional services firms designated as HITRUST CSF Certifiers: Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, a Tennessee-based regional accounting and professional services firm, and Solutionary, an information security company with a wide range of managed security solutions and professional services.

Meta Health Technology of New York City has unveiled eCDI, a Web-based software product designed to automate all elements of the clinical documentation improvement process and which includes Meta’s Electronic Physician Query software.

Document Storage Systems, Inc., of Juno Beach, Fla., has been awarded the Purchased Care Health Care Claims Processing solicitation contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The NCR Corporation, based in Duluth, Ga., and Greatwater Software have announced that Orlando Internal Medicine, an eight-provider practice in Orlando, Fla., will be using Greatwater’s PatientPoint self-service solution along with NCR’s MediKiosk hardware and software platform.

JGI, a business and technology consulting firm based in Rochelle Park, N.J., has completed an ADP upgrade at the Washington Hospital Healthcare System in Fremont, Calif., allowing the system to improve its management of human resources, payroll and benefits as well as interfacing with other hospital information systems.
Cygnus, Inc., based in Petoskey, Mich., has unveiled the LC3000 non-powered EMR laptop cart, part of the NorthPort Technology Cart line for healthcare settings.

Wolters Kluwer Health, based in Philadelphia, has announced that Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital in Brockton, Mass., has selected ProVation Order Sets, powered by UpToDate Decision Support, as its electronic order set solution.

Agfa Healthcare, based in Mortsel, Belgium, has installed its IMPAX picture archiving and communications system (PACS) and computer radiography (CR) system at 10 hospitals in the Spire Healthcare Group in the United Kingdom. In addition, the company has announced that the Maine Image Sante group in Le Mans, France, has installed the integrated DX-D 500 digital X-ray room, and an agreement has been reached to install a second DX-D 500 with the SMC SCANPY group of Tarbes.

The Medsphere Systems Corporation of Carlsbad, Calif., has announced that New Jersey’s 328-bed Hoboken University Medical Center will implement the company’s OpenVista electronic health record solution.
