BOSTON – US FamilyHealth Plan for the southern New England region, headquartered in Boston, has signed a three-year agreement with Cambridge, Mass.-based MedVentive for new technology.

The health insurer will use MedVentive's full Web-based software suite to improve outcomes for its 10,000 active and retired military members and their families in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

US FamilyHealth Plan is a TRICARE Prime option available to families of active duty military, National Guard, reservists, retirees and their eligible family members, through networks of community-based hospitals and physicians in six areas of the country.

"Like so many other health plans today, US Family Health Plan is challenged to find innovative approaches for managing care and improving quality," said Charles Rollinger, MD, medical director of US FamilyHealth Plan. "MedVentive's software allows us to take control of our data and intervene efficiently and effectively to improve cost and quality.
