ANN ARBOR, MI – Thomson Reuters and Zynx Health have announced a partnership that will see Thomson Reuters Micromedex integrated into ZynxOrder evidence-based order sets. This pushes more clinical reference information to the point of care, giving physicians access to comprehensive drug information and disease protocols.
Thomson Reuters will partner with Zynx Health as its source for order set solutions, and Zynx Health will offer Micromedex content as a preferred choice for clinical reference content. Joint customers will have contextual links from their ZynxOrder order sets into the Micromedex content.

"Providing physicians with access to context-specific information is essential for effective clinical decision support," said Scott Weingarten, MD, the president and chief executive officer for Zynx Heath. "Thomson Reuters and Zynx Health have each had a long-time, far-reaching commitment to contextual provision of information, so we are very pleased to provide this joint offering."

The partnership brings together Zynx Health's evidence- and experience-based clinical decision support solutions – which are implemented at more than 1,700 hospitals – with Thomson Reuters' Micromedex evidence-based clinical reference information, which is used in more than 3,500 hospitals.
"To support physicians in their critical decisions, relevant information needs to be available from within the clinical workflow," said Thomas Hegelund, executive vice president at Thomson Reuters. "The combination of ZynxOrder order sets and Micromedex evidence-based reference information integrated into the electronic health record and computerized physician order entry environment will give physicians comprehensive clinical information where they need it most."
