RENO, Nev. – The National Conference on m-Health & EOE (electronic order entry) slated for Oct. 26-28 at the Reno Hilton is billed as only one of its kind; analyzing bleeding edge mobile healthcare and EOE technologies as well as their successes and failures.
The Medical Records Institute is once again pairing up with MoHCA (Mobile Healthcare Alliance) to present the two-day event, which this year offers an ePrescribing Challenge that will give attendees a chance to assess various technologies in action and compare how e-prescribing vendors are addressing critical issues.
The upcoming conference is of "great interest to the whole health IT community," said C. Peter Waegemann, CEO of the Medical Records Institute. "Both mobile health applications and electronic order entry, and particularly e-prescribing are challenges every healthcare provider faces," he said. "No other conference is addressing these issues at the same level of detail."
The Medical Records Institute has been holding this conference focused on mobile health applications for four years.
"These conferences focus on the hottest topics and help CIOs and other healthcare professionals to navigate through the issues of strategies, selection, as well as successes and failures," Waegemann said.
"Compared to last year, the issue of e-prescribing has become more of an issue as reports of failures and successes have come in and the MMA (Medicare Modernization Act) mandates e-prescribing in the near future," he said. "The objective of the conference is to prepare healthcare providers for the introduction of wireless handheld devices and e-prescribing systems."
