At RSNA 2010, Siemens will showcase its two newest groundbreaking Imaging IT solutions, syngo.via and syngo.plaza, representing the next generation of advanced visualization and agile PACS technologies that deliver what Siemens calls “cutting-edge” functionalities to the clinical routine. With syngo.via, Siemens’ new imaging software for multimodality reading of clinical cases, the company is placing special focus on reading efficiency through automated case preparation and structured case navigation across multiple specialties. syngo.plaza is the first PACS from Siemens where 2D, 3D and 4D reading come together in one place and offers two viewing modes for users: a pre-configured intuitive interface as well as a customizable option. GE Healthcare highlights healthymagination products
GE Healthcare will highlight technologies that address its healthymagination strategy at RSNA 2010: improving access, quality and efficiency of healthcare while lowering its cost for providers and patients. Centricity PACS 3.2, a new release of the industry-leading PACS, offers integration with Centricity Enterprise Archive 4.0 and Centricity Precision Reporting. Additionally, GE will showcase its eHealth Information Exchange platform, which supports the secure exchange of patient data between providers, across an IDN or ACO, and among disparate vendors. GE Healthcare will be located at Booth 5533 (Hall A).
Accelarad debuts new web portal
Accelarad is introducing at RSNA 2010 a new collaborative web portal for hospitals, physicians and patients for its SeeMyRadiology.com image communication platform. The portal looks and feels like LinkedIn or Facebook in order to bring a familiar user-friendly interface to the medical imaging world. The new web application takes advantage of the same HIPAA compliant and scalable cloud-computing platform that powers all Accelarad technologies and draws on the company’s 10-year history in virtual image communications for medical professionals. While providing a full range of general functionalities and tools, the new portal also fine-tunes the technology to provide a suite of innovative solutions to a range of pressing issues in medical image sharing today. peerVue debuts platform to integrate data from disparate health systems
peerVue will debut at RSNA 2010 an IT platform that integrates data from disparate health information systems to leverage real-time, qualitative intelligence to continuously improve clinical decision-making, cost savings and patient safety.
The new peerVue Qualitative Intelligence & Communications System (QICS) directly interfaces with HIS, RIS, PACS and related systems and automatically addresses unmet workflow and communication needs beyond the scope of these applications, such as critical test results, emergency department discrepancies, radiation dose tracking, peer review, rad-path correlations, technologist performance tracking and more. QICS leverages existing RIS and PACS data. peerVue will be located at Hall B Booth 8747.
Viztek launches web application for radiology information and business management
Viztek will introduce at RSNA 2010 Opal-wRIS, a web-based application that combines RIS functionalities with a platform for the management of key aspects of a radiology business in today’s healthcare environment. Opal-wRIS delivers a full range of RIS features, including scheduling, full modality worklist, dictation and transcription, automatic report distribution and full HL7 in-and out-bound interfaces. Viztek will be in the North Hall at Booth 9122.
AFC introduces Floor Post Series
AFC Industries is introducing the Floor Post Series of radiology workstations at RSNA 2010. The AFC Industries Floor Post is a single column with a secure track on two sides for mounting monitors, keyboards and CPUs. The 16” x 16” base is fixed to a stationary position, while the attachments are height adjustable along a track.
Carestream Health showcases RIS platform, new PACS capabilities
At RSNA 2010 Carestream Health will showcase its newest RIS platform, which delivers tools for users to customize data capture and workflow changes as needed. Carestream Health will also showcase new capabilities for its CARESTREAM PACS: a zero-footprint, web-based portal that will enable viewing of imaging data and patient information by remote users (as a WIP), and an optional new PACS module that delivers embedded critical results notification to enable facilities with older RIS systems to meet JCAHO requirements. The critical results module will be available with new PACS orders worldwide beginning in December 2010. Carestream Health will be located at Booth 222 in Hall D.
TeraMedica launches virtual university
TeraMedica, Inc is launching VNA University at RSNA 2010. VNA University will be a virtual place of learning for the A-Z of healthcare and imaging informatics, featuring topics such as vendor neutral archives, IHE, and meaningful use. Members of the VNA University will hear from industry experts and receive many other benefits at the show. ZyDoc introduces MediSapien service
ZyDoc is introducing its MediSapien service at RSNA 2010 to enable physicians to adopt EMR without requiring any change in work habits. The service provides physicians the option of using dictation, as they normally do, for structured EMR data capture in addition to using the keyboard and mouse. The service extracts SNOMED-CT codes from free-text dictation or transcribed documents and inserts those codes into the client’s EMR. In addition, MediSapien extracts ICD-9 and CPT-4 billing codes. ZyDoc will be located at Booth 9526.
Sony showcases FilmStation, color ultrasound printer
Sony Electronics will showcase at RSNA 2010 its FilmStation Mammography Film Imager, model UP-DF750, optimized for full-field digital mammography (FFDM) applications. Also on display at RSNA will be the UP-D25MD digital color dye sublimation printer optimized for ultrasound applications.
KJAYA Medical debuts cloud-based imaging suite
KJAYA Medical is debuting its fully cloud-based zero-footprint VoXcell imaging suite at RSNA 2010 with complete RIS, PACS, image archiving and communications functionalities – plus a full range of advanced visualization tools – accessible through a standard web browser. With VoXcell imaging suite, full digital image management no longer has any in-house hardware requirement other than a typical web-enabled PC.
Shina Systems showcases enhancements to 3Di suite, PACS viewer
Shina Systems debuts at RSNA 2010 a range of enhancements to its virtual 3Di advanced (3D/4D) visualization suite, which delivers imaging data, reformatting and viewing tools as well as powerful computer processing in a cloud environment. This year Shina also adds a zero-footprint, browser-based 2D PACS viewer that enables anywhere, anytime review of images stored in the company’s cloud-based archive. Also new for both 3D and 2D imaging is an easy-to-use patient file locator for exams stored in a Shina system, which is similar to popular Internet search engines.
