The website for IHE-Europe has recently been redesigned to increase access to eHealth initiatives and information. The website, www.ihe-europe.net, highlights five pan-European initiatives, nine national programs and EHR implementation success stories from across Europe.
The design, developed in collaboration with Italian firm CentoCento, is simple and easy to navigate, with important features brought to the forefront. For example, there is now a link on the website’s homepage to the Connectathon, a major event for eHealth in Europe. Additionally, a profile of IHE-Europe’s role in promoting interoperability is offered in six languages.
"eHealth is now moving closer to patients, and the new website helps to inform a wider audience, encouraging them to join the movement and help shape the future of patient care," said Jacqueline Surugue and Peter Kuenecke, User and Vendor co-chairs for IHE-Europe.
The website also includes new sections, such as “EU Projects,” which spotlights programs intended to coordinate eHealth practices. “News and Press” comprises feature articles, press releases and a link to HealthTech Wire news.
The European Commission has made a commitment to eHealth as a method for increasing the productivity and efficiency of EU health systems. IHE-Europe furthers this commitment through education and implementation of interoperability of health IT.
Their new website, as well as the website for Connectathom 2011, is part of IHE-Europe’s effort to spread awareness of the benefits of eHealth.
“The website is the result of a collaborative effort of eHealth experts from the various IHE national initiatives across Europe,” noted Harm-Jan Wessels, chair of IHE-Europe’s Marketing Communications Committee. “This cooperation towards the common goal of eHealth interoperability is the foundation for IHE’s international impact and success."
