NEW YORK – A poll conducted by Black Book Rankings, a division of the market research firm Brown-Wilson Group, ranked the top EMR vendors for radiology, pathology, oncology and cardiology.

The four medical practice EMRs were evaluated by users and those in a current implementation process on their satisfaction levels per vendor. The highest ranked EMR vendors by respective client physicians and practice administrators include:
- Los Angeles-based MedInformatix was ranked at the top EMR vendor for radiology.
- PSA (Pathology Services Associates), a MED 3000 company, based in Florence, S.C., was ranked the top EMR vendor for pathology.
- Stockholm, Sweden-based Elekta's MOSAIQ was ranked the top EMR vendor for oncology.
- Boardman, Ohio -based Henry Schein MicroMD was ranked the top EMR vendor for cardiology.

"High performing niche EMR vendors are emerging from the pack as practice implementations succeed and fail," said Doug Brown, managing partner of Black Book Rankings.

Respondents polled narrowed down top vendors in categories across 18 key performance indicators from a field of more than 400 qualified healthcare software firms. According to the poll, the top four vendors had the highest scores in customer experience in the areas of document management, practice administration and revenue cycle management, e-prescribing and patient accessibility.
