AG Mednet, a Boston-based diagnostic imaging exchange network, named Brian Zabin vice president, business development. John Baggette, a recent Hewlett-Packard executive, has joined Austin, Texas-based Catalis as vice president of sales. EDS appointed Sean Kenny to the position of Global Healthcare vice president. eMedicalFiles, a Web-based health information technology company, named Edward D. Jones, III, as president and CEO, and Mark R. McLaughlin, as executive vice president and chief technology officer. The National Governors Association appointed Commissioner Rhonda Medows, MD, to co-chair of its Health Information Communication and Data Exchange Taskforce. TowerGroup appointed David West as research area director. Harris Williams & Co. announced the growth of its Healthcare & Life Sciences Group. Joining the team are Cheairs Porter as director, Geoff Smith as associate and Rachel Wallick as analyst. Duane White, a 24-year veteran of the financial services and healthcare industries, will lead TSYS’ healthcare initiatives. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina named Don Bradley, MD, senior vice president and chief medical officer. dbMotion appointed Joel Diamond, MD, as chief medical officer, North America. Daniel R. Paquin has been hired as chief operating officer for CareSource Management Group. Also, Kevin T. Wells has joined CareSource as vice president of sales and marketing. M-Tech Information Technology, a provider of identity management solutions, named Danny Rowark vice president of channel sales in the UK. Prior to M-Tech, Rowark served as UK account director for Compuware UK Ltd. MED3OOO, a national healthcare management and technology company, appointed Stephen Ura to the position of chief technology officer and senior vice president. He most recently served as vice president of development for the HealthMatics product line for Allscripts. Thomas P. Wiffler has been named president and CEO of UnitedHealthcare of Illinois. Most recently, Wiffler served as chief operating officer of UnitedHealthcare’s central region. MEDecision has designated Ralph K. Tang as senior vice president of solutions marketing. MEDITECH, a vendor of healthcare information systems, promoted Robert Gale to the position of senior vice president, product development and Michelle O’Connor to the position of vice president, product development. ClinPhone appointed Michael Smyth as vice president, product management in its Trial Management Solutions Group. Michael Guthrie, MD, will serve as chief medical adviser for The Beryl Companies. Blue Shield of California appointed Alan Sokolow, MD, senior vice president and chief medical officer. Specialty Hospitals of America, a provider of long-term acute care hospital services in Washington, D.C., appointed Irving B. Sawyers, Jr., CEO for Specialty Hospitals of Washington–Hadley. Most recently he was the CEO of the Specialty Hospital of New Orleans, MedeFinance named Michael E. Gallagher CEO.
