The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has established a new online database aiming to recruit "highly qualified workgroup members" for Federal Advisory Committees, according to a notice in the Federal Register.
The HIT Federal Advisory Committee Workgroup Application Database will "allow anyone with an interest in contributing and expertise in the numerous aspects of HIT to submit their information for future consideration for HIT FACA workgroup membership," the notice reads.

The committees responsible for developing the database include the HIT Standards Committee – which provides recommendations to the ONC on matters of health IT standards, implementation specifications and certification criteria for electronic health records – and the HIT Policy Committee, which advises the agency on policy framework related to electronic exchange and technology infrastructure.
According to the notice, the database will be the ONC’s first resource whenever a new workgroup is formed, or if current workgroups experience turnover.
