SCOTLAND – NHS 24, a telephone and online service providing health advice and information in Scotland, has signed an agreement to extend its partnership with Clinical Solutions.

Clinical Solutions, a provider of health-based customer relationship management (CRM) and clinical content solutions based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, will be providing NHS 24’s core telephone triage software and decision support content. NHS 24 officials said Clinical Solutions will also continue to provide related services such as technical support, project management, configuration, training and deployment.

After meeting key objectives, NHS 24 decided to extend the original contract, signed in March of 2007, for a further two years.

“NHS 24 is playing a key role in providing, by telephone and online, clinical assessment and information services for people who live in Scotland,” Christopher Stewart, director of clinical development  at NHS 24. “These NHS 24 services are delivered by working closely with partner NHS Boards across Scotland. During 2009, the H1N1 Pandemic provided challenges for all of the NHS in Scotland. As part of NHS Scotland, NHS 24 had a key role to play. Absolutely critical for us in NHS 24, is the need for robust and resilient systems to facilitate the delivery of the safe, effective and efficient services we provide.
