Navicure launches kiosk solution

March 03, 2009 | Eric Wicklund, Contributing Editor
From the April 2009 print issue

ATLANTA – To the growing list of healthcare IT vendors offering self-service kiosk software and services, add Navicure.

The Atlanta-based medical claims clearinghouse for physician practices has announced the launch of Navicure Check-In, a stand-alone or integrated solution that allows the company’s existing Web-based account receivables management solutions to be accessed from kiosks.

The new product is being offered in conjunction with Marietta, Ga.-based Clearwave’s kiosk solution.

“Navicure check-in addresses the growing patient demand for efficient and accurate check-in, while also helping physician practices improve cash flow and staff productivity,” said Jim Denny, Navicure’s CEO, in a press release. “This solution is a key part of our mission to improve accounts receivables for our clients.”

Navicure Check-In is designed to refine the eligibility verification process for physician practices and their patients, offering co-payment processing as well as primary and secondary claims reimbursement, rejected and denied claims management, electronic remittance posting, claims and remittance reporting and analysis and patient statement processing.

“Practices spend too much time reviewing and correcting insurance information, which can ultimately result in lost revenue and time,” said Gerard White, Clearwave’s CEO. “This solution ensures that information is collected correctly upfront and with the goal of reducing time and staff needed for check-in, as well as revenue delay and loss from inaccurate claims on the back end.”

Navicure’s new product is the company’s second major announcement in little more than a month. At the beginning of February, Navicure announced a partnership with Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc., a Carrollton, Ga.-based provider of integrated electronic health records, practice management and interoperability functionality.
