CHICAGO – It’s the first day of the HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo, and the exhibit hall is literally buzzing with an array of product and service demonstrations.
Thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and its federal stimulus funding opportunities, healthcare organizations are taking a serious look at how electronic medical records (EMRs) can help them transform healthcare delivery and clinical outcomes. “As a platform for patient data aggregation and collaboration, EMRs can help reduce medical errors, increase efficiency and reduce costs,” said Charlie Cook, president of Orchestrate Healthcare.
Orchestrate Healthcare will feature its EMR Clinical Consulting Services, as well as its HIE platform SynapticHealth, a “common meeting point for the developers, publishers and consumers of healthcare information services, he said.
Orchestrate Healthcare will also demonstrate its expertise in: application evaluations relative to specific organizational requirements, system implementation and organization, application and data integration, data quality and data governance policies, set up of health information exchanges and healthcare systems integration consulting.
“Orchestrate Healthcare has extensive implementation, version upgrade/migration and custom interface expertise with all the leading solutions in healthcare integration,” Cook explained.
Kaseya will be exhibiting its Kaseya IT Department Edition, a comprehensive application for managing an enterprise’s entire computing infrastructure, said Valentina Vazquez, private and public sector campaign manager. “With maximum scalability and flexibility, IT organizations have the power to automate IT administration to increase the productivity of their staff and the organization as a whole,” Vazquez said. Kaseya IT Department Edition features, among other capabilities, asset management, patch management and remote monitoring, enabling the automation of daily IT tasks and improving systems performance.
“By managing IT environments as one, IT professionals are able to check for network vulnerabilities, update software and deploy security patches at once, eliminating the need to repeat mundane administrative duties for each client and saving service professionals valuable time that can be spent on more proactive projects,” Vazquez noted.
Imprivata will be demonstrating the benefits of its Imprivata OneSign to clinicians, according to Laura Buchanan, marketing events specialist. Imprivata’s signature software provides fast and secure, one-touch access to patient health information; more time with patients instead of managing passwords; protection of patient health information from unauthorized access; reduction in transition time for user-switching at workstations, Buchanan said.
Qualified attendees can download case studies, white papers and product sheets, as well as view the healthcare flash demonstration that will be looped on its booth plasma screen. Visitors will also have an opportunity to register to win a $100 iTunes gift card.
Imprivata is another returning exhibitor. “The HIMSS Virtual Conference provides educational tracks, keynote sessions and an exhibition hall where we are able to speak with targeted prospects and our customers,” Buchanan said. “The ability to conduct networking, lead generation and product promotion activities virtually provides a low-cost alternative to exhibiting and traveling to trade shows and conferences.”
Cooke agreed, saying, “The HIMSS VCE is a great way for healthcare technical professionals to keep up with important, helpful industry developments without leaving their office.” It’s been a “tremendous asset” to be able to have conversations with those the company might not have met otherwise, he said.
Through the virtual exhibit hall, Orchestrate Healthcare is able to learn what attendees’ needs are, which enables the company to take the opportunity to share how it can meet their needs, said Cook.
With Kaseya’s October webcast on Healthcare IT News a success and its client base pushing the company to get more involved with HIMSS, it was inevitable for Kaseya to participate in the HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo. “We just didn’t find a reason why we shouldn’t attend,” Vazquez said.
