Key PPACA provisions start today, WebMD and Sebelius answer questions
Six months after it was signed into law, key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act go into effect today. As they do, WebMD has launched a new online resource to help Americans better understand those healthcare reform specifics.
The site, webmd.com/healthcarereform, offers a series of video interviews with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, in-depth editorial coverage, blogs, and community and interactive polls.
WebMD asked its audience to send in questions about healthcare reform, and a selection of the questions submitted by its community, alongside Secretary Sebelius's responses, are available at the site.
Medscape, WebMD's online resource for providers, is also featuring an exclusive video interview with Secretary Sebelius, in which she responds to clinicians' questions on healthcare reform and clarifies which changes could impact practices.
Earlier this week, WebMD – in conjunction with McKesson, HP, and Intel – launched another infosite, as part of Medscape, called PracticeReadyEHR.com. The online resource offers doctors, clinicians, and other providers an array of information and tools to help them implement EHRs and meet meaningful use requirements.
