LYNDHURST, NJ – IncentOne, which develops incentive programs for health plans, employers and others interested in pursuing wellness and preventive health as a means of cutting healthcare and insurance costs, has enhanced its platform to offer condition-specific programs.

The company’s Health Power platform, which allows clients to align incentives to evidence-based guidelines and associated participation, outcomes, process and utilization measures, can now be configured to focus on such conditions as diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, asthma, COPD and cardiovascular diseases.

The goal is to improve health outcomes and reduce unnecessary healthcare costs by compelling people to live healthier lifestyles.

“For each condition, we hope to drive not only adherence to evidence-based guidelines, but also to optimal utilization such as using lower cost and higher quality providers,” said Michael Dermer, the company’s president and CEO. “Our customers can now address these conditions across their populations with a combination of participation, outcome and utilization activities.”

“Condition-specific incentives provide the opportunity to attack specific high-cost health risks,” added David Gorstein, president of Health Innovations. “This provides targeted protocols that align with evidence-based guidelines and the health management tools being used to drive cost reduction.”

Employers, payers and others using the IncentOne platform can modify their programs to tie incentives into specific actions, such as preventive examinations, biometric screenings, adherence to evidence-based guidelines, medication adherence, participation in online education courses or coaching programs and the use of lower cost and/or higher quality providers.

Company officials say IncentOne has served customers representing more than 75 million lives, processed 20 million health transactions and driven 13 million health milestones through 125 data partners.

Earlier this year, IncentOne announced a partnership with Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania to make its platform available to BCNEPA’s self-insured clients in 2012.

“IncentOne's expertise in providing incentive-based healthcare programs will be an important tool for our customers and members to help them achieve their own healthcare goals more effectively, while at the same time helping members and employers reduce the overall cost of their healthcare,” said Paul Holdren, BCNEPA's senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer.
