BOLOGNA, Italy – IMS, a breast imaging systems provider based in Bologna, Italy, has contracted Barco for new clinical review displays.
IMS will integrate the MDRC clinical displays in the Raffaello image acquisition workstations.
"IMS has been integrating our renowned Coronis 5MP diagnostic displays in its solutions for many years," explains Fabio Rotelli, regional manager for Barco. "Through this new agreement, Barco will become IMS's exclusive supplier of display products, both for acquisition and diagnosis."
"We thoroughly evaluated Barco's MDRC displays in close cooperation with physicians and by means of phantoms," stated Achille Albanese, product and market manager at IMS. "Barco's MDRC monitors proved to be the best solution with the highest image quality and the best price/quality ratio on the market. Our customers are really impressed by the quality of the images."
For the Raffaello work stations, IMS chose the 20-inch MDRC-2120 that has a resolution level of 1600x1200. The LCD panel is designed to deliver a hight-than-average contrast quality and brightness level with a preset DICOM lookup table. Other features of the MDRC-2120 include advanced backlight output stabilization technology to provide quick power-up and sustained image consistency.
