CHICAGO – The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society has announced its 2009 award recipients and awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships to student members.

"Each year we see significant and innovative efforts to improve the delivery of healthcare with information technology from our HIMSS award recipients, who are nominated in the four award categories of industry service, HIMSS service, publications and chapters," said Erica Pantuso, HIMSS' vice president of member services.

The 2009 award recipients are:
